@WilyRickWiles That’s a massive stretch to get there from my interest in “clarification of the statutes.” I have the impression that you are casting strawmen at me to see if you can bait me, from which I doubt I will learn anything from you.

While alarmists fearing cancellation of “birthright citizenship” seem to be concerned about Constitutional rights veering to the Right, in spite of the massive trend Leftward since 1937, and there remains a need for clarification of the statutes in my view, they do have a point that there is some risk of going too far. Is very likely in our predominantly Leftist climate in the US today? No. I have no such fear, and remain hopeful that Left-leaning actions like Wickard v Filburn, the 17th Amendment, increasingly Federal usurpation of States authority, and Obamacare, among many others, are reversed toward the original intent of the Constitution. And I admit to struggling with the language of the article, which contains the kind of presumptive judgmental adjectives when addressing the opposition, that is typical of Leftist manifestos.
