We have, OH, about two or three generations that do not understand SACRIFICE!!
Not teaching or learning history gets us to this point very quickly!! Most of our parents or at least Grandparents were "THE GREATEST GENERATION", how soon we forget their sacrifices and those of the generation that came before them!!
My parents survived WW I, the Spanish Flu, (and all of the other "pandemics" from the Spanish Flu thru the 1980's) the Great Depression, and WW II!!!!
Get over it, get back to work!!! Yes, we will lose people (and I am high on the list of possible Flu victim), I am going to work in the morning!!!

Both are based on irrationality unsupported by reality. We now have 3 generations who have been taught to believe that only "experts" are capable of self education, logical thought and reason. They are happy to defer to others to make life decisions for them rather than do the work needed, because they might be wrong. I believe it is nothing more than an abdication of responsibilities that fuels a victim mentality. Where have I seen that be a problem?
The last thing I will ever do is allow someone making money in a particular field to make decisions for me without fully understanding the topic and agreeing with his conclusions. As a matter of fact, for me, the term "expert" is a red flag for someone profiteering from the situation.
