So a popular thing is to appeal to emotion and bring 500k(now +) Covid deaths and that those wanting to open up are heartless and don’t care about these people and just want more death. im sorry if it sounds calus but people die. i feel for all of those lives lost but i also feel for all the lives we are losing and future lives we are risking (even into future generations) from lockdowns. i get we don't want to risk more lives but it doesn’t even seem like lockdowns are really that effective at that and they are probably doing more harm than good at this point. but anyway all of that aside for as heartless as my position my seem in that i don't care about the 500k lives thats a huge assumption to make about my character without no real basis however assuming at some point we would all like to “get back to normal” at some point, how many deaths is enough for that to be acceptable. how many lives can be sacrificed for the rest of us to return to normal life? 0 is impossible unless we never go back to normal and is still unrealistic as is. so there has to be a number that you are willing to sacrifice to get us there. i say we just all take our chances and sure some will die but we all will at some point just some now sooner than others but at keast for the most part we all have an equal shot.

We lost tens of thousands to over a hundred thousand every year to the common cold and flu since humans have been around and only heard crickets by government officials.

Still no one is dying in the streets, almost no one knows anyone firsthand who has died of COVID-19, who wasn’t in a nursing home or in similar condition, and suddenly its called a “pandemic.”

Overloading of the health care system is an important factor that needs to be considered. Fifty million people died between the 1918 Spanish Flu and the vaccine that was only developed after 10 years.

The millions of jobs lost forever.
The drug and alcohol abuse deaths and abuses.
The children that are at LEAST a year behind developmentally and educationally.

The above people were the least likely to die of covid.

81% of those that died were 65 and older
95% were over 50.

The damage to the respect for the CDC and health care officials is going to last a long time.
Government has proven once again, give them 30 days and they'll take a year....
