Still puzzled by what might seem to be the sudden appearance, full-blown, of something called Critical Race Theory, which didn’t even exist five years ago? Did it?

Well, yeah. It’s been around for a while, born out of The Frankfurt School’s despair at the seeming reluctance of Western society, and America in particular, to embrace communism. As the linked article puts it:

“As long as people in the West believed that the system could solve the problems facing society there could never be a Communist revolution. Hope, therefore, must be taken away. The foundations of traditional society must be demolished. That began with family. The Frankfurt School preached that “even a partial breakdown of parental authority in the family might tend to increase the readiness of a coming generation to accept social change.”

Interesting wording, in light of Obama’s “Hope and Change” slogan.

CRT first appeared in 1992 and was promulgated in the writings of Harvard Law professor Derek Bell. For years, Bell published in a magazine called Freedomway, established and run by the Communist Party USA. The point: CRT makes no sense apart from the larger effort of the worldwide Marxist effort to take down the west, a campaign that never paused despite the downfall of the Soviet Union.

I've been reading about CRT for more than two decades - but I tend to deep dive into things most people don't. I consider it a balm for the small minded - which unfortunately is not ideologically limited to the Left or Right - and will always be with us....to borrow a phrase.

CRT and much of the Marxist mindset caters to those that are envious, greedy and/or lazy. And of course it is good for virtue signaling if the society values virtue signaling over actual virtue....as we do in the West right now.

The horrifying thing is that enough people want this that we're within one generation of a one-party system.

How many people and businesses are fleeing metropolitan centers, whether it be due to "anti-racism protests" or policies that punishes business for having the temerity to do business in the city? (1) And yet, the people who remain continue to vote for the same policies. Therefore we MUST assume that - on some level - they WANT this.

It doesn't matter what vertical you look at: academia, medicine, journalism, entertainment, military, governance, even corporations that vitally depend on capitalism and consumption....all are making very public pushes to support Marxism and even more curiously, are declaring themselves the enemy of anyone who DOESN'T embrace the newthink.

And they're going to vote for it. We are still a democratic Republic, and...the majority of people...are voting for people who want to do away with America. Or perhaps they're ignorant to what's really at stake and that's just as bad.

With apologies to George Lucas, democracy doesn't die to thunderous applause, it dies to willful ignorance.

(1) For example, LA's policy of refusing to use police to stop theft from stores. I assume you've all seen the video of the two women dumping all kinds of make-up products into pillowcases and simply walking out of the store without an ounce of fear?
