Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to James Lindsay, author of Cynical Theories about how an issue with diversity hiring was the first thing that clued him in to the growing problems of wokeness, his recent red pill moment, and why the useful idiots of woke culture may be more dangerous than the woke. In this clip James describes how participating in an episode of the Dark Horse podcast with Bret Weinstein and Jesse Singal of the Blocked and Reported podcast led him to be more concerned about what he calls the crypto woke.
According to James the crypto woke are people who end up functioning as useful idiots for the totalitarian woke by not taking their demands at face value. By not grasping the true authoritarian goals of woke culture they end up making the ideology seem safe and acceptable which allows it to spread further. These are people who participate in sort of an idea laundering by working for publications like the New York Times, New York Magazine, and The Atlantic. By not standing up to it, some of the more dangerous ideas like the belief that all our institutions are based on white supremacy or the evils of whiteness and white privilege become more normalized and accepted by mainstream culture.

Depending on your ethnicity. If you were Serbian he was much better than if you were say Bosnian or especially Croatian. To be Croatian in Yugoslavia was to be second class citizen compared to being Serbian. He was not Lenin, Stalin or Mao, that is true, but I would not sing any praises. Just bearable I guess.
