Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Look at the phenom on simple economic terms.. A capitalist, free market society actively supports competition. We in the US used to champion it. A market "vulnerable" to upstart competition has to stay on its toes to survive. Look at what Uber did to taxi companies, or just mass transit in general. Political parties, particularly the left, cannot stand different points of view -- that is competition. So, they outlaw it where they can and crush it if possible.
Without political competition the system becomes rigid and corrupt. All blue cities went this route once they were in power for >decade.
Oh, and yes, many cites out here in CaCaLand are on the road to Detroit -- the poster child for lost dreams. I am oh so glad we did not buy in Frisco when we had the chance 30 years ago. The burbs are bad enough, back in Frisco is a hellhole.

Indeed. I suggest people to get out of Blue cities. Its about to get worse. Crime is going up, new migrants, all kind of crazy policies, drug dealing from goverment, drug dealing on the streets, high taxes, inflated prices, side effects of inflation coming and corruption from street cop to the mayors. Gang wars on streets, so you can always catch a stray bullet, homelessness everywhere, junkies everywhere. And equity and watermelon politics in the public offices.
