The Israeli data makes this less cut and dried. Up to about 80 years old, the vaccinated were slightly MORE likely to require hospitalization than the unvaccinated.

The recent examples of Del La Hoya and Rogan reaction to COVID also counter that narrative.

To understand the Israeli data:
The highest at risk people ( people with most severely co-morbidities) were vaccinated first and at the highest rate. Therefore the group of people who were most likely to die were vaccinated almost completely. The group that is less likely to die from co-morbidities were vaccinated at a very low level.

So you no longer have two comparable groups. The one already sickly and the other healthy. You would expect that the sickly group would have much higher mortality. It is only slightly higher.

If you go above 80, age becomes the big equaliser and you start seeing the vaccinated group doing much better.

You need to know the details of what is measured.
So I checked my sources again.
Did you? Or was the single YouTube video your only source?

The major Covid wave to hit T&T coincided with the vaccine. It is a coincidence.
In statistics we say that correlation does not imply causation.

You’re right there is such a thing as a statistical anomaly. That’s why after checking my sources, I look to see if this is just an anomaly. At this point I have seen multiple credible sources reporting similar findings in several countries. (I’ve seen reports that say the data has pointed to the same conclusions in no less than 20 countries; however, I haven’t checked out that source not verified the data on the specific countries. Therefore I haven’t posted it nor have I given it the weight of my verified data. I simply use it as a departure point to do more research).

Making sure my views are not one-sided is one of the main reasons I post here and read what others say.

If there is indeed evidence forthcoming that the vaccinated is more likely to have severe reactions then i will change my view (I was heavily against the vaccine before due to the lack of protocols followed etc).

There are about 160 countries tracked… and considering that the pandemic comes in waves, now three waves on some countries, it is reasonable to expect that there will be some countries that will coincide a major wave with the vaccine roll out period.

So we need to compare the severe reaction / death rate between vaccinated and non - vaccinated while taking into account the effect of co-morbidity etc and then the general decrease in morbidity of a virus over time etc etc and then it becomes a very complex problem.

I’ll take the Covid (or one of the variants) over the vaccine any day.
