Question

The Sexual Identity argument is a rhetorical battle where lots of smoke gets used. First we have to establish that we are biological mammals that reproduce sexually. Second, biologically there are two sexes. Calling this binary is fine as long as you realize it is a reality of biology. Thirdly, inside our genetic reproduction between the two sexes we get results that are not the norm. Extra or missing chromosomes, mutations, disease potentials so many variables that sometimes we get errors or if you like anomalies. Most of these do not effect sex but sex is not sexuality. Where the smoke comes in is when we get the modern terminology..... Identify! That is the favorite. How do you Identify? That simple smoke bomb makes all things possible. Not in a biological sense but in a rhetorical and behavioral sense.

The only fair and right thing to do is to keep actual gender in the realm of Biology and leave sexuality in the privy of Psychology. Let us also note that Psychology is the most subjective science outside of climate science. Female athletes are being harmed by trans boys in the sports they derive their scholarships from. These girls should be put together and bring a Class Action against certain Boards of Psychology, certain states and a slew of advocacy groups.

Data should be used to identify Gender. Weight, Size, Muscle mass, BMI, hormone levels.....about two dozen hormones and actual sexual genitalia. Standards should be established for sports and averages for medical purposes. Why one could even graph ones place on just where you fit on the male to female spectrum. Perhaps then an impartial Doctor could treat children to be healthy inside their unique biological make up helping them to reach maturity. Under the current smoke screen we have those far from majority let alone maturity being swayed by agenda motivated advocacies, judges, legislators, educators, medical professionals to make applewood, hickory and mesquite tainted mistakes!

There's a reason it's called identity politics... because it's more about garnering political power than about informing people.
In the old days if someone continually stood up and declaimed, "This is my identity! This is who I am!" The Average Joe would have responded, "I don't care what you do. I don't care who you are, just get outta my face."

I think there are 18 genders now and counting. Personally I never thought my skin color or who I wanted to have sex with constituted my identity. But that's just me.

As to the politics part of identity politics, the Democrat party has lost the middle class and as such has started appealing to minorities. They're reaching out to all minorities perhaps in hopes that all minorities united out-vote the majority. To that end, they tell people with non-mainstream sexualities that they are a minority and that the other party doesn't care about them.
I believe this theory also explains why the Democrat party welcomes people who believe in Sharia law... which on the surface seems contradictory to the Democrat agender... er agenda.
