In the summer of 1927, Coolidge vacationed in the Black Hills of South Dakota, where he engaged in horseback riding and fly fishing and attended rodeos. He made Custer State Park his "summer White House". While on vacation, Coolidge surprisingly issued a terse statement that he would not seek a second full term as president: "I do not choose to run for President in 1928."[176] After allowing the reporters to take that in, Coolidge elaborated. "If I take another term, I will be in the White House till 1933 … Ten years in Washington is longer than any other man has had it – too long!"[177] In his memoirs, Coolidge explained his decision not to run: "The Presidential office takes a heavy toll of those who occupy it and those who are dear to them. While we should not refuse to spend and be spent in the service of our country, it is hazardous to attempt what we feel is beyond our strength to accomplish."[178] After leaving office, he and Grace returned to Northampton, where he wrote his memoirs. The Republicans retained the White House in 1928 with a landslide by Herbert Hoover.

Coolidge was my third favorite after Washington and Reagan.
What were Coolidge's glories?
Polk pledged to serve 1 term, and honored his pledge.
Polk promised to expand America. He doubled the size of America.
It was glorious that the first Republican debate of 2016 was at the Reagan library, with Air Force One on the stage. Trump stole the show and became Reagan's successor.
Trump gave the debates great ratings. Trump is one of my favorite presidents because he's so damn entertaining, and because he nukes libs.
@jaymaron Coolidge was the first modern champion of the Constitution. Much of Reagan's policies came first from Coolidge.
He was unfortunately unique in modern politics. Before Coolidge, Presidents and Congress had gradually lost touch with the Constitutional principles that make the document unique in the World. Coolidge was a return to appreciation of Constitutional principles, and that is all that matters to the future of Representative Republics.
Some think its a popularity contest. Back in high school that's all that mattered. To those not quite adult, that's all it is. Constitutional Principles are all that matter in the real World.
Trump is my fourth favorite, only lacking in the greater ability to communicate as well as Reagan and Washington could.

@jaymaron Harding. The US was weary from Spanish-American War, WWI, and the Spanish Flu. Much like the mood after WWII.
Military bases were named mostly after victors in battle. Renaming them is like tearing down statues to revise history, even though those being renamed were Confederates.
The US military does not customarily vilify the leaders of opposing forces, unless they were dishonorable, and often honors them. Most of those Confederates were originally US military, educated in US military academies, and with excellent records. Most importantly, when the country was re-unified, those soldiers were Americans.
Revising history can't happen to a Constitutional Republic. It can only happen in a Marxist tyranny.
The flag over the Pentagon should be flying upside down. The Castle has been captured by the woke culture, driven by the dupes of Marxists and their sympathizers.
