'Cowards run from fights': GOP challengers to Trump blast state parties for canceling primaries, caucuses

[foxnews.com]

Clearly it's not just democrats and moderates like myself who see problems with Trump and the direction of Republican party.

Did you ever read “Great Moderates In History?”
Neither have I. Don’t spend a lot of time looking for it.

When I think of moderates, at their best, I envision forming a link between factions, diplomacy, compromise to get a deal signed, the whole “reaching across the isle,” thing.

In a less favorable light, I think of someone with a crease in their ass from sitting on the fence.

It’s all well and good to see problems with Trump and the direction of Republican Party, but I’m far more concerned with the problems in what once was the Democratic Party. There are no moderates left, and the fanatics in charge now abandoned politics long ago. For them it’s a religious war, something the Republican moderates can’t even recognize, let alone respond to. Trump is like Patton, an embarrassment to diplomats and professional politicians everywhere. But he fights and he wins, and right now, if you ever want our political landscape to again have a place for moderation, we need someone like him to begin reversing the trend.

Otherwise, you’ll get eaten.

@ObiRonMoldy Is it "the extreme" right that have been voting with the Democrats the last eight years to give us trillion dollars of additional debt per year? Or is it the "moderates." When a moderate claims "fiscal conservative" but "social moderate." The facts on the ground say that is total bs. There is no such thing. Its the social spending that is causing all the fiscal problems. Voting and spending records have proven there is no such animal as a moderate. Maybe there may be such a thing as a moderate Democrat, or at least use to be such a thing. But there is no such thing as a moderate Republican. It is almost like being a Whig who gave the Democrats everything they wanted on slavery because above all things. They did not want confrontation with the evil.

@ObiRonMoldy I would also like to add. The "extreme American right" controlled the GOP from 1994 to about 2002. Then the Bush and McCain "moderates" successfully worked with the Democrats to oust them from the leadership positions in the party. They were called the extreme right because they had the audacity to force a balanced the federal budget on Clinton. How did they do this? By starving grandma, making her choose between medicine or dog food? By killing the "the children?" By being just general all around NAZI's? After all that is what they were accused of.

Let me remind you of the "extremism " they practiced. In their budget that they forced on Clinton over multiple government shutdowns that they won but to this day still horrify the "moderates." They reduced the automatic budgeted growth of all government depts down to 3-4% from 7-11%. 7-11% growth per year is probably where we are back up to now thanks to the "moderates."

Does that sound extremism to you? That the social welfare programs that have us on the fast track to insolvency are only budgeted to automatically grow 3-4% per year whether they actually need to grow or not? Seems to me to be public policy that is very epitome' of moderation. Seems to me to be a case of everything to the right of Stalin is "the extreme right." I want to add to that story that congress was actually a popular institution then also. Despite the history revision of the "moderates" about that era. The GOP kept getting reward with more seats in congress up until the successful Democrat\"Moderate" coup of "extreme right' leadership in the GOP. Now the popularity of congress whether led by Democrats of Republicans who's leadership positions are held by "moderates" is somewhere around televangelists, atheists and child molesters.

@ObiRonMoldy Trump doesn't make a budget. Congress does. He can only veto what they send him. Which he has chosen not to do. 50 or so "moderate" Republicans have been voting with a majority of the Democrats since 2010 on spending resolutions. They haven't even passed a real budget. They had their chance to prove to everyone in 2016-2018 that they were anything but bottom dwellers but couldn't muster the courage. So those same 50 or so "moderates" voted with a majority of the Democrats to give us trillion dollar deficits. They were rewarded with the loss of the house to the Democrats. Who certainly are showing no willingness to do anything but bankrupt the nation. So am I "blaming" the Democrats for what they moderates are doing? No. I am saying the moderates are defacto Democrats as far as the way they vote. . They did pass the tax cuts. I'll give them that.

@ObiRonMoldy What difference does your reason for being a moderate make when all of the next generations tax dollars will be going to pay for debt and government employee pensions? Government spending on social welfare programs is a given in this day and age. Why is it "right wing extremism." to only allow that spending to automatically grow 3-4% that will result in a balanced budget instead of 7-11% which will result in insolvency?

@ObiRonMoldy Well if your not familiar with it. You ought to be a little attentive to someone who was intimately involved in it. I think the Democratic Party is Satan's spawn in America. Working against the ideal of America since the inception of the party under Andy Jackson. It seems to me they mostly only get away with what Republicans allow them to get away with. Republicans who don't allow them their way are far and few in-between are always labeled as extremists.

Speaking to the housing crises. Again speaking from the perspective of someone who has ALWAYS been heavily involved and considers it one of the highest duties to be informed on subjects of national importance. I remember the the beginning of that like it was yesterday. I just moved to Arizona in 1994 becasue we were poor, I had a growing family. I was self employed and I couldn't picture myself ever being able to afford to even rent a house in southern CA.

I remember the headlines. "Banks redlining minority neighborhoods." We are talking the top headline on the news papers. This went on for years. I remember it was infuriating me. I would throw the paper on the ground in total disgust at the lie. That the government was strong arming the banking industry into lending money to people who did not qualify and the disaster it would cause. I did this right in the middle of myself not being able to borrow money becasue I did not qualify and knew it would take me years to be able to.

Anyway. That was the Democrat party who were funneling tens of millions of dollars in to Barack Obama's ACORN. In the end, how they pulled this off. The Democrats that is. They could not get the banks to lend money to those who did not qualify because it was illegal to do so. There are strong regulations in the form of hard laws to prevent banks from doing this. So they got around it by promising to buy the bad loans via Fannie May and Freddie Mack and sell them to suckers as mortgage backed securities overseas. Once that genie was out of the bottle. That banks could now loan money to those who did not qualify. That is where all the Country Wide lenders (scammers) came our of the woodwork. Loan officers from Country Wide type mortgage companies could use money from big banks like Chase's to make thousands of dollars a day in income on bad loans. That was an executive branch action that Clinton finalized. Congressional Republicans really didn't catch wind of it until it was to late. Did Bush the moderate take credit for all the people buying houses? He certainly did! Didn't you ever see the video of Barney Frank and other congressional Democrats calling Republicans congressmen who had discovered Fannie May and Freddie Macks balance sheets racists and on a witch hunt to deny minorities the right to buy houses? The Republicans were flabbergasted by what they found. Directly said this was going to throw us into a major recession. By the way. The leaders of the scam. leaders in the sense of directly profiting from Fannie May and Freddie Mack were the Obama Democrats.

Then all it took was the energy crises of 2006-2008 to break that camels back. That extra hundred dollars a month in energy related costs caused millions of those who could not afford their homes to lose them and set of and economy wide chain reaction. Who cause the energy crises? Right back to the Democrats. Bush was an oil man. He got elected on a three legged platform. One of which was to stop the coming energy crises which was just simple math. The worlds use of oil was growing and the supply would not meet the demand by a certain date and we would be in a crises. He laid out a very simple plan to avoid that and Congressional Democrats led by non other than John McCain and a few other "moderates" stopped him. The crises came right on schedule. the Democrats did what they always to to escape the blame. They launched investigations of the energy companies and a compliant media went right along with the ruse. And we got our great recession that brought Barack Hussein Obama to the presidency.

All that had to happen to stop all this was that moderate Republicans and a few moderate Democrats to stand up agsint the Democrat party and we could have avoided 12 trillion dollars of middle class wealth disappearing over night.

By the way. I ended ed up buying a rent to own total fixer upper from an individual. Once there was enough equity in it I was able to get a second tier very expensive mortgage company loan etc etc. At the height of the real estate bubble I wanted to sell it and buy a bigger fixer upper with a little bigger yard for our 6 kids. In one of the few cases of her being wrong about a big thing. My wife refused to move unless we moved into her dream house which was jut that . A dream we did not have the money for. So I put $80,000 second loan into making a 950 sf house into a 1400 sf house. Thinking if something goes south I' can just sell it instead of going under. Right when I finished. The bubble burst. 6 houses on my street sold for $20,000 to investors while I know owned $160,000 on our house. It was a looooooong road back to recovery for us. Our house finally got worth more than we owned in 2017. We can finally move, which we are soon and will rent it to our kids.

@ObiRonMoldy give us some evidence that "extreme right" has taken over the Republican Party. There is no such evidence because this simply is not true.

@ObiRonMoldy Becasue you have let your views be known to me in the last couple of conversations we have had. I don't consider you a leftist or even a liberal in today's vernacular. At the same time I don't know of any "extreme right wingers" in the national Republican party either. Not saying there are not any. Just that I don't know of any. To me it is just conservatives and moderates in the national GOP, The moderates have been running the party since around 2002-2004. I guess perhaps what I see in you. Maybe not enough information. Is that your opinion of the conservative wing of the GOP comes from the Democrats and not from your own personal knowledge of them. Seems bigoted to me. I have old friends form High school and such who are now just Facebook friends from CA where you are from. Same thing with them. They have or at least live out all these "conservative" values but in my opinion irresponsibly vote for Democrats. Mostly becasue they form their opinions on Republicans based on the lies Democrats tell them. I expect some of them to not vote next time around because the leftist running the Democrat party are pissing then off. It like one of them is totally "SHUT DOWN THE BORDER." Why? She has had a couple of friends killed by illegal aliens over the years. She probably never voted for a Republican in her life. Can't see her voting for Trump.

But to me it's like. Shoot. Your against illegal mass migration because you have been personally effected by it. Why aren't you against it due to the 30,000 American citizens killed by illegal aliens since 9-11? Yes that is the number recorded by law enforcement thus far. It may be two or three times that amount becasue many states and agencies do not report if the murder or accident or drunk driving accident was committed by an illegal alien. So to me it's irresponsible to not know that stuff when you vote.
