True. I still think that Trumps' tweet just sounds sarcastic and patronising - nothing more, nothing less. And I guess there is some truth that he couldn't resist tweeting because of his personality.
According to the Oxford dictionary, troll means "make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them". (I'll have to double-check this with HighQ - lol) Trump's tweet is too mild to fit this definition, and if anyone was triggered by his tweet, I would be inclined to say "being oversensitive"...? Anyway, that's my opinion.

He said kind and laudatory things about her. At worst you can say it's a bland boilerplate statement similar to a salutation on a greeting card.

I believe you're falling victim to your own confirmation bias. Trump is not trolling her. He's signaling to her parents that they may be abusive of her by pimping her out over an issue that is a hoax perpetuated by a religious cult. Step outside of whatever vitriol for trump, or unhealthy fixation on the child, you have and look objectively at this.
Play this imaginary game. Your a psychologist tasked with deciding what is best for this child and have to weigh Trumps tweet of support and the girl's lifetime of experiences provided by her parents that somehow led to her at a podium in the U.N. talking like a pouting and disrespectful adolescent. Now seriously, what's prima fascia healthier for her?

He wasn't being self-evidently sarcastic. His gracious words of encouragement may have had a positive formative effect on her since the leader of the free world actually acknowledged her, rather than used her like those around her. She's still influential at her young age. So what Trump said was right and good. To dismiss the possibility that Trump's tweet was good for her is to assume she is possessed or gripped by a premeditated hatred for Trump and sees him as the person responsible for every other person's actions that have led to her erroneous belief if the religious cult of a delicate climate. I won't assume her to have that hatred. But neither will I presume to trust she has enough scientific and mathematical knowledge to speak authoritatively on a subject being perversely reported on by shysters and scammers.

@ObiRonMoldy I would not defend it so much as to say what he tweeted and did was pretty mild. Further, this child came to the UN to be a public figure. She walked into the fire of her own free will. Would I have done things differently, yes, but people like Greta who spew venom in public can't really complain about some backlash. Was it a wise decision by Donny, no, but it wasn't that big of a deal. This is a 16 year old who made a decision to stand out and speak her mind. And the "trolling" was minor league fluff which isn't that big of a deal. Much ado about nothing. She and her parents will get many trips, gifts, money and more for what she did. If donny had ignored her, she wouldn't be a story today. Another reason for labeling his actions as stupid. If you want to blame the most horrid actors in this situation, her parents and her NY handlers at the UN should be excoriated for abusing a child with mental conditions.

I rarely offer up criticisms of Trump because I would have nothing to say that has not already been said 100 times over and I also see no reason to state the obvious.

Trump is not unique in his narcissism. Obama IMHO is as much a narcissist as Trump. For some reason though nobody dares to talk about Obama in anything other than glowing terms.

As for Hillary (I think she is far more dangerous than any other major candidate for POTUS we have ever seen) I believe the woman is delusional/narcissistic and quite likely sociopathic with a good dose of paranoia/schizophrenia thrown in for good measure. With your background in the field of human psychology perhaps you can offer some insight into that.

I really don't worry much about Trump doing any real or permanent harm because of the other people in Gov't and in his cabinet (like Pompeo) are there to prevent that happening. Oh sure they let him play around with his Twitter but that only serves to solidify the buffoonery of the man.

If the Dems are serious about defeating Trump in 2020 they will come up with someone NOT already vying for the nomination. I have said it before and I will say it again...at the last minute Michelle Obama will suddenly make herself available and will get the nominaiton. If this happens there is NO WAY on Gods green earth that the Dems could lost the election.

@iThink I don’t think Michelle has a chance in hell of being elected even if she did stand up... she is a part of the establishment than people are sick of. Trump won because he is a businessman. And he’s been trying to get shit done. And has gotten quite a bit done despite being antagonized and drug through the mud every step of the way. I don’t always agree with everything he does, but I’m willing to look past that crap because he thinks differently and really is trying to make this country great again. He’s a CEO and corporate is cut throat on the daily. There are plenty of narcissistic CEOs out there. Maybe it’s a narcissistic tendency that gets people to the position?
