They paid half a mill for the tagline, " Meth, we're on it!"
I think it is obvious where the rest of the money went. I would be bet meth dealers in SOuth Dakota have a whole lot of nice new things.

They succeeded. Most the other anti drug campaigns are focused on keeping people from using drugs, hence "anti-drug". This crew seems to have taken a page out of the antifa playbook, be what you claim to be against.
"Hey Twitter, the whole point of this ad campaign is to raise awareness. So I think that’s working ...”
I have long said all these "awareness" campaigns are really a waste. Awareness about spousal abuse, awareness about AIDS, awareness about some very infrequent form of cancer, awareness about sexual perversion, awareness, awareness, awareness. They all have a couple of common denomiators, first they all want money, and more money, which is supposed to go to raising more awareness. The second is that they really don't do much of anything else. It's not like one is donating money to scientists working to find a cure for something, or providing legal help for someone being beaten up every day, or to help with drug addiction. Awareness campaigns are just about getting money and saying they made people who would otherwise be totally unaware of something because it is not a part of their lives, and may well never be, THE END.
But this?! "Meth, we're on it!" That was the best they could get for half a mill?????

Then, if it is less than 100 mg you are a user and everyone feels sorry for you and no prosecution.
If more than 100 mg then you are a dealer and you receive 6 severe slaps with a wet bus ticket.
If you also are a drug addict and a a dealer... we all feel very sorry for you and you only get 2 soft slaps with a wet bus ticket.
We actually reduce the sentences of drug dealers if they use the drug themselves!
And they wonder why the drug trade has become so prolific and blatant.
Recently a judge had to decide whether to send a young boy to his drunk mother or meth addict father.
The father promised to only use meth twice a week... and got custody.

Wow, a drunk mother, or junkie father, and the junkie wins. Methods of dealing with methheads, dealers and other controlled substance abusers varies from state to state. Here in Oregon they tend to make excuses for them, or their own inefficiency and put them back out on the street. It seems states have a tendency to spend more money like this crap South Dakota pulled with their "awareness" campaign than actually dealing with the problems created by the addiction. Oregon used to have rehab programs but most of those who graduated celebrated their graduation by getting high or drunk, depending on their addiction. They were revolving door programs that would brag about helping like 10,000 people the previous year so need more money the next year. What they failed to tell the people was that of the 10,000 they helped more than half were repeat "clients".
@dd54 I have been up there only 3 times, I don't like it all. Don't care much for big cities at all any more, but those on the West coast have really gone to hell. We are looking to be out of Oregon by sometime next year. I had some hpe things would turn around, but when the people of Oregon put Kate Brown back into office knowing what a thief she was, having learned from her boss that had to step down because he was using state money to support his mistress I lost all hope.
