Reading the Horowitz report, you almost have to feel a little sorry for the choice Comey faces. Well, not really. It’s altogether possible that his ego and narcissism blinds him to his predicament. But it’s simple, a binary either/or situation.
Either we are looking at corruption that rises to the level of treason, or a degree of criminal stupidity and utter incompetence that should be inconceivable for an organization ostensibly as elite and professional as the FBI.
That’s it, Jimbo. That’s your choice. Personally, I’d go for stupid and incompetent. You’ll still get prison time for that, but the other option means you did it on purpose. And for that they can put you up against the wall.
Choose carefully.

Wow, Comey is smarmy and self justifying to the end.
@timon_phocas - I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt while watching. If I didn't hold to facts I'd say he came off sincere. He is a "good" liar.
I read his article today.
It was a gloss of the IG summary; airy, pious and self justifying.
Horowitz said there was a low bar for counter intelligence, essentially any articulable cause. And since that was all that was necessary to justify an intelligence investigation, the probe was justified. And Comey beat that drum long and loud.
The rest of the article was, "mistakes were made." Punctuation and spelling errors; that kind of thing. No personal responsibility. No personal failures. No lax supervision.
We'll see what tune he sings when AG Barr and Durham start dealing with him.

I seriously doubt that Comey and his fellow traitors will ever see the inside of a prison cell much less the death chamber.

You’re probably right. Still, the fact that the idea is creeping out into the mass consciousness, is delicious in and of itself. I like to imagine these clowns waking up at 4 am in a cold sweat, asking themselves, “What went wrong?”
