The situation in France is extraordinarily complex. The only thing that seems clear is that the problems stem from a pervasive and unchallenged leftist ideology. They have an untenable pension system; the unions are all-powerful; taxes are unrelenting; the education system is broken beyond repair; and their government is comprised of elites who are above it all. And in all of this, I cannot help but think it is 1789 redux.
