Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.This is my concern. My in laws may never see their grandchildren again. They are of the age, and health, that they could likely die during this lockdown regardless. Many seniors will die of loneliness.

I just had to cancel my trip to show my very elderly parents their grandchildren.
I do not know when I will be able to take them again and if my parents will still be alive by that time.
It sound dramatic, but it is what it is.
@Hanno if I were elderly, I would want to be exposed to my children and grandchildren rather than be shut in. If you're afraid they are close to death as it is, then how are you saving them? It is a tough call. I know the guilt my wife bears at the thought of possibly exposing her parents to the virus. I hope when I am in my 80's and 90's I will be given the choice of who and what I'm exposed to. You made the best decision for you, and I'm not criticizing you. I don't have a say with my in laws, but I empathize with them. There is noth so special as the relationships between grandparents and grandchildren. This is the greatest tragedy of this experience.
Oh, I probably needed to explain. My parents live in South Africa and I live in New Zealand.
We were about to fly over Australia to visit them , when the borders were closed.
If it was up to me and my parents, we would gladly take the risk. However Qantas is canceling all its flights before we were to return, meaning we have no way of getting back to NZ.
Potentially we could be stuck for some months since the NZ government warned us if we go they would not be responsible for us and may not send planes to get us when things go wrong.
So we had to cancel.
i will likely die from it.
We should never forget those who have lost their lives. Nor should we forget the hoarders who may have had a hand in the losses.
