I venture into conspiracy territory perhaps more often than some, but I’ve been reluctant to join in on the “It was intentional!!” chorus when it’s come to the virus. Until, that is, the resistance and outright hostility to Hydroxyquinone showed up.

I lived many years in New York City. In the early 80’s, if anecdotal evidence began circulating of an unconventional drug treatment that was successful against AIDS, the demand to approve its use would have been immediate, universal and unrelenting. Alas, none of the “miracles” that provoked such reactions proved worthy, at the time, of the hype.

But here we have, as President Trump has called it, “a possible game changer.” So why the crickets and tumbleweeds from the media, the efforts of some governors to outlaw it’s use al all, the lack of interest in so many who we would expect to, if not embrace the drug, at least eagerly explore the potential?

The reality makes me wonder what the real game is, and why they don’t want it changed. Some folks react poorly when their extensive, complex, well laid plans turn to mud. You’d think, after three years of Trump, they’d start getting used to it.

Most if not all the governors who are strongly opposed to Hydroxyquinone are scared it may actually work and Trump may get all the accolades, not to mention just their plain hostility to anything and everything Trump has to say. In other words, their anti Trumpism and self preservation, overrides the good of the nation and it's people.

I agree that anti-Trumpism is one thing. Doing a little research on alternative treatments is another. Its fairly easy to find articles that show things like Chloroquine having a very long track record of safe use, mainly for treatment of malaria symptoms, its use in the past against coronaviruses, and why it seems like a reasonable idea now. Making it political seems a bad idea to me, just as the whole COVID-19 scare seems overblown by basic human reactions, and following that, some late but effective opportunism by those who care more about politics than people.

@TimTuolomne agreed 100%.

Viruses are the process of evolution taking place every season as the earth orbit changes in relation to the distance from the sun. We are then exposed to more or less amounts of solar radiation which mutates dna makeup, then adapts. Having knowledge of this, some are able to take advantage, especially with the ability to predict how intense a future transition may be..the common denominator seems to be that the populations are urged to remain separated from each other, not to form groups any larger than 10 at a time...yet we may go from one group of 10, to another as long as the groups don't exceed 10 people..does that seem like an attempt avoid spreading of infections?

btw this book is free on amazon "MindWar"

@DesireNoDesires. I am not sufficiently aware of the definitions of the abbreviations and even some of the uncommon words used in this article. It seems to be written in a style similar to Marx, which always gives me a headache after a short time, from attempting to follow his circular logic. Care to summarize for us non-jargon speakers?

The virus is real, but is not much more, if any, lethal than the typical annual flu, and the numbers don't seem to be much different than a typical cold and flu season. The pandemic is a false flag. The numbers don't qualify for much more than an outbreak, much less an epidemic, and certainly not a pandemic. All of the initial predictions of disaster and bodies everywhere have been walked back now that the intended result of martial law is in place. Neil Ferguson's predictions which got the ball rolling worldwide have now been "adjusted" back by 2500%

We are in the infancy of this deadly virus. You cannot make any predictions that it may be " overblown" as the rise of cases in New York is showing.

@angelo, before it even started, the "experts" predictions OVERstated the deaths by 2500% which triggered the media-created panic and global government overreaction.. Pretty sure my predictions are much closer than theirs. But mine doesn't kill the economy of the entire world either.

Edgework - you know I respect your analyses on all the various posts. On this one I am going to have to respectfully yet vehemently disagree.
The very idea that anyone would plan such a strategy or tactic in order to put some diabolical plan into action is absurd on the face of it.
Anyone who would intentionally release a contagion like this would certainly have to be delusionally insane. Reason being that there would be no way for them to be assured immunity for themselves, their family, their cohorts and fellow conspirators.
Imagine a special kind of pistol - one that can only be used when two opposite facing bullets are loaded into the chambers. Can't point and shoot the guy in front of you without shooting yourself in the process. See what I mean?
This virus - really any viral or bacterial agent does NOT discriminate (with the very rare exception of a person who for unknown reasons might be immune to it).
t will infect anyone who comes in contact with it - including those who released it.

I should have clarified my point. I realize my wording was fuzzy. The case that this contagion is anything but a natural result of natural circumstances has never been adequately made, although the existence of the Wuhan level 4 bio lab at ground zero does qualify as one of those odd coincidences that I never trust.

However, as I’ve stated here before, I, along with others on this site, seriously question the response that has shut down our economy and which threatens to do far more damage than the virus on its own. Perhaps it’s simply fortuitous circumstances that the clamor to “do something” just happens to erase the Trump economy. Gosh, what luck. I have a mean and suspicious mind, but it doesn’t take a tin-foil hat to wonder if there might be a certain degree of “intention” involved in that clamor, particularly when every “something” that is done is greeted with scorn and derision.

But all this could still be dismissed as more of the same politics we’ve grown accustomed to. But it has been the very real resistance —even hostility—to the possibility that hydroxychloroquine offers hope to people who would otherwise die, and, not incidentally, reduce the crisis to manageable parameters, that convinces me that there are those who want this plague to continue, who don’t care about the sacrifice of individuals as long as it serves the greater good. And that, I believe, is intentional.

There has been a media blackout on the trials in New York and further trials in France, all of which offer varying degrees of reason to hope. Laura Ingraham’s Twitter account is frozen for stating the truth—that use of the drug shows promise. Doctors find themselves possibly threatened with criminal charges if they attempt to treat patients With the drug. CNN headlines “Trump peddles unsubstantiated hope in dark times.”

There’s an agenda here, and to me it’s clear that keeping people from dying is of secondary importance to the furtherance of that agenda. Actually, keeping people dying might be integral to it.

UPDATE: this report, via, CNN, might undercut some of my points, which I consider a good thing, however they still are not mentioning the treatment that is getting results

This is not being covered:

@Edgework well stated clarification. I agree - the contagion itself is particularly dangerous because it spreads so rapidly that steps to mitigate the spread have been only marginally successful. The virus is sneaky that way. It leaves infected people asymptomatic for a few days or weeks which naturally causes it to spread ever further and wider across the population of its potential hosts.

Like you I am inclined to believe the virus originated in that level 4 bio lab in Wuhan.
I also share your suspicions about the how and the why of the destruction of the US economy.
Regardless I still plan to vote for Trump in November - if he and I are still alive by then I do say.
It is self evident IMHO that there are a lot of people who are all too happy about the timeliness of the pandemic and are indeed taking full advantage (politics!).

Oh hydroxychloroquine is being researched--with Gates Foundation funding no less--and the FDA issued an emergency authorization for its use in treating COVID-19, but it's otherwise untested and can have nasty side effects. Trump is a gossip and a bullshit artist, not a medical expert.

But the FDA now agrees that it's NOT BS.

I'm hard left in most things, but I sold used cars in SoCal, the name of the game is BS artistry. That doesn't mean the BS is false.

The best BS is fluffed up truth.

In this case, Trump took anecdotal evidence and it turns out he's ahead of the FDA bureaucratic curve.

This just fuels conspiracy theories when the FDA is slow on the draw, do you see what I mean?

Are you not aware that NIH had evidence that Hydroxychloroquine was an effective treatment against previous strains of coronavirus since 2002 and CHOSE not to run clinical trials? They are now admitting that they made a mistake in not running the trials. I have taken it for my autoimmune issues and the only serious side effect is possible issues with peripheral vision with long term use. Some medical professionals are taking it now as a prophylactic. Trump mentioned it after the successful results of a small French trial were made public. FDA regulations created a false narrative that this is not an effective treatment. Clinical trials are not the only proof that something is effective. The thousands of people that have successfully been treated with this medication may technically qualify as anecdotal but I say it is proof.

@debb1eb they are playing politics with people's lives here. Shame on them, and if it can be proven, should be charged with crimes against humanity.

man, please take no offense, but your post kinda wanders.

is it about medicine? you made a 20-30 year jump, and then 'they....'

I doubt the virus was intentional, nor its spread. I'm certain that ALL THINGS are now political. The misinformation is intentional. The unavailability of information is intentional. People have and will die over current political usage of the outbreak and information about it.
