Many Christian denominations belief in the whole "trad wife" philosophy, where women should be at home raising children and be subservient to their husbands, and they should not have careers or vote or hold any authority over men. Many Christian denominations believe being gay is an abomination, and think they should not be allowed to get married - some even think they should be incarcerated or put to death. But if someone with these viewpoints becomes an elected official, representing diverse people with freedom of religion, they should not be trying to force their personal beliefs onto others. No more than a Muslim president should push for Sharia Law to be enacted. So yes, you can still be a Catholic who is pro-life, while still recognizing that others should be allowed to make their own choices. It is also shameful that the Catholic Church is calling this "sexual misconduct" and trying to paint it as a possible road to pedophilia (something with which the Catholic Church has a horrible problem). @Fraggle no one says the religious can't have their religion, but when they try to enforce their dogma into law and force others to abide by it, that is then oppression under the guise of "well we need a Biblical morality system for society to function". That is basically the stance of the majority of Conservatives or the Republican party, with over half saying the Bible should be equal or more important that the Constitution in regards to the law. Why does marriage equality have to only be a lesser-concern because of something like the national debt? Why can't it be a non-issue just because it has to do with civil rights? Thomas Paine and Ethan Allen were Deists, not Christians. Benjamin Franklin and James Monroe were skeptics and didn't believe in the supernaturalism of the Bible. So right off the bat, the video is wrong in saying the Founding Fathers wanted America to be specifically a Christian moral society. This is extremely evident in the First Amendment, as allowing religious freedom is antithetical to the First Commandment and Biblical dogma. Establishment of Religion has a pretty clear definition. It means you can't create law exclusively based on a particular religious viewpoint. So something like saying same-sex couples cannot get married because the Bible says it is wrong is against the Constitution. If you say there is no separation of Church and State, then churches can be forced to pay property taxes, and people cannot be allowed to circumvent federal laws based on cherry-picked religious claims. "free exercise thereof" - ok, so then if someone's religious belief is that prostitution or drug use is okay, then the government cannot interfere. So you agree with that, and are perfectly fine with both being legalized? Satanists believe in bodily autonomy, so they should be allowed to go around any abortion restrictions? People who have religious viewpoints that their gender identity is separate from what they were assigned at birth should be accommodated in all aspects? So you agree with all of that? You sound sooooo smart using terms like "woketard religion of the Left". Sorry, but a political or social ideology is not the same as a religion. And you want to talk about cults... have you ever even seen Christianity? You also realize Christianity borrows about 90% from these "pagan cults"?

Catholicism is just a flavor of Christianity, similar to Protestantism, Mormonism (LDS), Jehovah's Witnesses, Baptists, Unificationism, Christian Scientists, Pentecostalism, and so on and so forth.
