@PopeBoboXII white-knighting is just a term to try and dismiss anyone's opinion. She clearly moved on to more important things with her degree, so she did use her knowledge for something. What happened to the Conservative notion of pulling up by one's own bootstraps? And it was a one off meme comment, but one I consistently see as an attempt to put AOC down. And I was inquiring into what the deal was.

We're talking about Trump's tax returns here, right?
JacksonNought replies on Nov 11, 2020:
@parsifal you mean the ones saying: The NY Times obtained Donald Trump’s tax information extending over more than two decades, revealing struggling properties, vast write-offs, an audit battle and hundreds of millions in debt coming due. and Trump’s Taxes Show Chronic Losses and Years of Income Tax Avoidance and After a years-long battle to obtain Trump’s tax returns, the New York Times has revealed that the president paid just $750 in federal income taxes in the year he took office. According to the newspaper, the self-proclaimed billionaire paid no federal income taxes in 10 of the last 15 years, largely due to significant financial losses and various methods of tax avoidance. and More than five years into his life as a politician, President Donald Trump still has no good answer on why he continues to refuse to release any of his past tax returns. Like, none. ... so all of this basically shows that he still HAS NOT released his taxes, as he promised he would. He just keeps making up excuses. However, as part of various lawsuits, which Trump has tried to block every step of the way, the NY Times was able to obtain certain information, such as the fact that Trump only paid $750 in taxes when he entered office, and owes hundreds of millions of dollars to *someone* which is coming due soon. At the debates he was asked about the $750, and denied it, saying he paid hundreds of thousands. If he released his taxes, he'd easily clear this up.

They only care about Trump votes. That's why you have groups chanting "stop the count" where Trump was in the lead, and other groups chanting "count the votes" where Trump was behind. There's also a difference between making sure all votes are legitimate, and Trump / Rudy making wild baseless killings that all of the votes for Biden are illegitimate and involved dead people and massive voter fraud.

JacksonNought replies on Nov 11, 2020:
@johnlondon people don't hate America just because they didn't want Trump to ruin it anymore than he has. People like you are what's wrong with the country today, completely vilifying anyone who disagrees with you as being evil and wanting to destroy America because they have different opinions. I live in PA, the GOP legislature said the mail-in ballots could not be counted until election day, and only after the in-person ballots. Philadelphia is a major blue city, and as we know most mail-ins were votes for Biden since his supporters actually took the pandemic seriously. So it makes perfect sense that slew of votes for Biden would come in once the mail-ins started being counted. We've also had a postal worker in PA, who originally claimed to know about fraud and had Republicans point to his story as evidence, recant once he was put under oath. There is just no evidence of fraud in the election, nothing that would change Biden's lead in the state of PA. You can have a million Giuliani press conferences in front of a sex shop, it won't change that.

JacksonNought comments on Nov 11, 2020:
Four people are not the "totalitarian left".
JacksonNought replies on Nov 11, 2020:
@SpikeTalon I guess my question is: is the "totalitarian left" your colorful term for the left-leaning side of the political ideology / Democratic party, or is it a qualifier of a small fringe group of extremists left-wingers? I guess that is important because it changes the perception of labeling the actions of four random people as to their part in an official government party or the ideology shared by tens of millions. As I said already, I can find examples of right-wing representatives acting in extremely authoritarian methods - you have some recommending the rights of black people and women to vote be taken away, some recommending Trump ignores the election and declares himself president despite the will of the people (some even saying he should do it for life), some recommending imprisoning Trump's political enemies or even executing them nearly for having different opinions... and I have had horrible words thrown at me and even death threats from people on the right merely for being Jewish and an atheist. I wouldn't describe this way of thinking for the entire conservative right-wing, just some fringe wack-jobs.

JacksonNought comments on Nov 6, 2020:
How is porn any more misogynistic than religion (specifically the Abrahamic ones)?
JacksonNought replies on Nov 9, 2020:
@WarmPotato when did porn stars do that? They are extremely well regulated and do constant testing and age verification, at least now that it is legal and not pushed underground. There was a campaign against forcing condoms in production, but that's a different matter. But how does that relate to misogyny? How about addressing the rampant misogyny in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam?

JacksonNought replies on Nov 6, 2020:
@Joehlert11 well I would say that for-the-community thinking is more common among Progressives than Conservatives. For example, a wealthy Progressive could see how a Trump plan would make them even wealthier, while hurting the less-fortunate, and decide for the betterment of the country as a whole they should support Biden. A Conservative might be more selfish and decide to support Trump because they benefit and screw everybody else. That isn't guilt or fragility, it is altruism. In an extreme example, if candidate A said all people should be free, and candidate B says any non-white person should be enslaved, is it purely virtue-signaling if a white person supports candidate A? Of course not. Also, don't forget that white people can still be part of minority groups which see Trump as a threat, such as religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.

No one says you must vote for Biden for the drug measures to win - you can vote for Trump and vote for the drug ...

@pbuck0145 please point out where I brought up a strawman. I did nothing but present facts about the ballot measures. JacksonNought replies on Nov 5, 2020:
@Admin you cannot just take California out of the equation. Sure, if we did, Trump would have the popular vote. But then if we take away Texas, Biden has the popular vote again. There are pros and cons to both systems. The electoral college is good in that it gives all votes a say, but then you basically put the voice of a couple of hundred thousand people equal to / over a couple of million. Coming from an ideology that continuously cries about LGBTQ+ rights because they are a minority of the population, you'd think they would prefer a majority vote. The Senate system is equally ridiculous, as you have 62 Senators representing a fourth of the US population in small states, and then 6 Senators representing a fourth of the US population in larger states.

@parsifal the problem with a lot of Internet news is they piggy-back off of each other. One source says something, and then a couple of sites will report based on that original source. @2FollowHim ok, so Hillary may have never gotten over her loss. Big whoop, she conceded and isn't running now and honestly no one cares about her. When Trump suffers a loss, he harps on it forever as well - he couldn't stand losing the popular vote, had to make up lies saying he won. He couldn't stand having a smaller inauguration, had to make up lies. He couldn't stand Apprentice not winning an Emmy, so he had to trash the whole thing. He is a very petty jealous man. How many lies do you think were thrown on Obama, by Trump himself? What about the lies he tells about Biden? From your username, and your rhetoric, you seem like an evangelical white supremacist. As both an ethnic and religious minority, I see Trump as slowly eroding my civil rights and installing a theocracy. I see Republicans putting party and politics over the wellbeing of the country, giving the top 1% more money and destroying the middle class and making the poor poorer. I see rampant racism, sexism, and the eroding of civil rights for people in the LGBTQ+ community. I see corporations being given more money to buy back their shares and stash in offshore accounts, rather than trickling down to the workers. I see corporations getting regulations slashed so they can dump waste in the local reservoirs and pollute communities. I see a complete disregard for science, which is what led to the absolute shitshow in how we dealt with COVID, and how we are dealing with climate change. I see the party of "small government" trying to legislate what people can do with their own bodies (drugs, abortion, sex, etc). Trump is a plague on this country. We need Biden to get us back on track. He isn't perfect, but he isn't setting the country on fire to add a few bucks to his wallet.

His assertion that somehow left-wingers or Biden supporters aren't thinking objectively is something parroted by right-wingers often, famously with Ben Shapiro, yet they don't apply this similar logic to their religion which is all based on faith and feelings, and no objective facts.
