I am a maintenance person for large buildings the problems with repurposing we have run into is the requirements from building departments to change the use of a building. one of the buildings used to be a car dealership this building will most likely be torn down and something else built in it's place because it is cheaper to do this than to change the use of the building. there is nothing wrong with the building it is that the whole building would need to be striped to the main walls replumbed, rewired. and the interior refinished witch would cost more than the process of tearing down and rebuilding. not to mention the cost of permits and inspections.
