I remember in Jr High they had the remnants of that program. A couple of PE coaches where still very involved but the rest were not, some were more interested in going on there smoke breaks in the teachers lounge. Here in California I do a 15 mile walk on the beach, I would say about a 1/3 of the kids are overweight. Maybe 10 to 15 percent are fit. Many of the teachers in schools, especially the fat (body positive) radical feminist, don't want the schools to reopen as they know they are much more vulnerable to COVID because of their poor health.
