What has the U.S. of A. gained and lost since Sept. 11th, 2001? Please participate.

The US immediately gave up Liberty for a little perceived security, so the terrorists won. (Apologies to Ben Franklin) But most of our most significant losses were not from outside our country. Until Americans start to show some spine, losses which have been coming since Woodrow Wilson all the way through Biden, will continue to destroy America.

Molten salt: a new technology with which we have no experience. Such things always have a learning curve that adds cost. That was not factored in appropriately. If it had been, the plant would not have been built. When we run out of fossil in about 200 years and the price of energy goes to a dollar per kWHr (it is now about 1/8th of that), the learning curve could be absorbed. But not today. And his comment about batteries. Lead acid batteries - used for a hundred years, are 75% efficient. Nothing can ever get very close to 100% efficient. So is a claim of three times the charge density for a new battery concept reasonable? No. If a new battery concept were realistically 85% efficient, that would be a charge density only 13% greater. Even 100%, which will never happen, would only be 33% greater. So an electric car that can go 100 miles before recharging would never go more than 133 miles if you could find an ideal 100% battery. What fool thinks that car is going 200 miles unless it weighs 4 tons, and you have to drive 15 miles an hour?
3 myths about marriage Americans still believe (And 3 good pieces of advice) [erlc.
TimTuolomne comments on Sep 9, 2022:
Agree that all three are poor predictors of successful marriage. Faith is the bedrock of marriage because it is the beginning of maturity. Simply stated, we can not love until we understand God's unconditional love for us, and that we can't deserve it. He just loves us. We are to love and be loved the same way. Finally, out of gratitude for God's love, we try to be better, and our failures to succeed very well eventually result in a better understanding our own weaknesses. Then we are able to choose partners whose weaknesses do not tweak our own weaknesses, and avoid those who do. That process can happen at any age.

His paper on the Constitution proclaimed that the document is flawed because it limits government. So as a philosopher, he is an amateur. The Constitution was intended, written and remains the ONLY document in history in the World that limits government. I think that if he weren't among like minded Leftists, that paper would not have passed review. 75 minutes is long for any speech on philosophy. Lincoln's Gettysburg Address was less than 2 minutes. There is a saying: "Clear thoughts speak clearly." The opposite might be that spinning a tale takes effort and time. And his "Aw shucks" quips are frankly insulting to anyone with intelligence. I have known a few people like him. Full of themselves. Full of contempt for anyone not fawning over them. Utterly disinterested in much anyone else has to say. Thinly veiled disrespect for almost everyone; convinced that they should just follow his Alinskyite rhetoric like lemmings. So how does a barely solvent guy going into office become a millionaire by the time he is out of office? "The only way to get rich in politics is if you are a crook." - Harry S. Truman.
Seems about right to me.
TimTuolomne comments on Sep 9, 2022:
I disagree that Washington DC is the problem. It could not be the problem without voter complicity; the same problem that stands in the way of a COS. When half the population believes an untrustworthy media because they need someone to tell them what to think, and the media needs to tell someone what to think, AND there exist people who have discovered that the media will accept funding with strings (the Leftist media would have died on the vine long ago otherwise), the consensus that assumes the Constitution is a document that limits government and so protects our rights, will no longer exist. So when they need someone to tell them what to think, the fate of the Republic depends on making that us: those who believe in the Constitution, at all costs. “Democracy, as a system, requires an educated and participatory populace that can take responsibility for making the decisions that affect their lives." - Thomas Jefferson.

I tried to improve that process locally by joining a committee within my expertise. Back then, when light maintenance came up, I documented how the city could save by switching to LED lights. They did not agree. Some hidden political imperative seemed to override any evidence I had. This is no different. I then voted against the incumbents. When government goes beyond public safety, roads and sanitation, humanity always suffers. And most government representatives tend to increase their empires, and consolidate power at the expense of taxpayers, for no real return.

Every single Democrat should be aware of Congress driving 276 insurance companies out of business by 1981 with the LRRA, causing insurance rates to quadruple. Some of us remember clearly. They blamed Trump, "Big Pharma" and insurance companies for what Democrats did, and asserted that Obamacare was the solution, even though it also drove up costs even higher. They don't dare admit what Democrats like Biden, Pelosi and Schumer did, and either are sure you won't remember, or don't know enough about their job to be in office. That isn't the only thing they are lying to you about. Look it up. Its public knowledge. The answer to all of this has been all along to repeal the LRRA, repeal Obamacare and let the States adopt healthcare if they so choose, as is correct by the Constitution, and vote out every single Democrat who feigns ignorance of all of that. If we do that, we could see insurance companies proliferate, competition once again separate those who can deliver instead of just collect premiums, and insurance costs eventually drop to something like 5 to ten times less.

Unfortunately they were also weary of war, and grateful to turn away from politics, with the help of the general media, which at the time did not warn them that FDR's illegal coercion of the Supreme Court meant the destruction of Constitutional protection of their rights. A vast unConstitutional unaccountable Federal bureaucracy was born, with effectively no recourse - And American's rights slipped away in the dead of night. Americans today are still too timid to demand that their reps walk that back or lose office. And the dumber half of America even thinks its a good thing, and keeps electing reps who are chipping away at other parts of the Constitution. If you don't bring intolerably uncomfortable social pressure on them, they will never change that view - because they are not driven by a moral compass, just the approval of their friends.
Stay healthy.

And if you've ever bothered to do any research on "organic" foods, you know that there are no standards, so no enforcement. Anyone can call anything "organic" and demand that you to pay a premium for it. Is it? And growers and food distributors have figured out that consumers will drop their line in a nonosecond if there are any scares about it, like Alar, and a very few others, so they actually spend a bunch of money, and raise their prices to cover that, to wash them and find better non-toxic ways of growing them. So is "organic" better than non-organic anymore? I doubt it.
How Close Is the USA to Criminalizing Biblical Christianity?

Rome tried, and Christianity became the dominant religion in the World, because we gratefully died for our faith, and I don't know about my neighbor, but I will too. By the way, the New Testament is the current call to Christians. In the New Testament is the Great Commission that only calls for two things: Love God, and love your neighbor. We are to leave judgment to God. Those with a passing familiarity with the Old Testament and have not read the new one, will mistakenly characterize Christians as something we are not. Or maybe they don't care what it says, they just hate Christians and are willing to intentionally lie about us. Same as in Rome. Bad bet for them.

So now California is 40 years behind, and the electrical distribution system is breaking down, because it was only designed for half the population of California - which is what it was 40 years ago. That means the population of California would have to shrink by more than 10 million before the population would be small enough to not burn up the remaining system. No human institution stands without becoming corrupted by error, no matter how well-intentioned. Almost no one would consider demanding peace could be an error, but it can be, when someone else already has made the error of creating a credible threat. Then as any negotiator can tell you, capitulation without compromise can result in tragedy. The desire for peace actually can cause suffering if it is not applied with the strength of arms. This example should show that any well-intentioned action may invite tragedy if not backed up with strength. Human nature demands it, and no amount of hoping we are "evolved" without a trace of evidence will make it different. Human salvation only comes from God, according to Scripture. Anyone who thinks it comes from virtue signaling on Earth or without the fear of God is deluded.

TimTuolomne comments on Sep 3, 2022:
Both the FBI and the CIA were founded in their original form as a response to extreme conditions, and like the lockdown were done by fiat, and created effectively without oversight. And those that ran them convinced the Executive and Congress that they needed to continue, but never agreed to effective oversight to this day. As said Lord Acton, "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely." Both agencies have access to nearly unlimited budgets and technology in the most powerful nation in the World. That is absolute power. Both are corrupt. When the CIA was the OSI, they performed brilliantly. In the Cold War, the CIA blundered, and is the responsible for the proliferation of Marxism today. In exchange for cover, the CIA was blackmailed by the Democrats to do their bidding. Anyone who could understand the news could see it. Both deserve decommissioning, and to be replaced by agencies carefully crafted for the times, and with effective oversight as a new agency that is part of the Supreme Court. The Space Force is almost the equivalent of the CIA already. The greatest hole in American Constitutional Justice is the FBI. But their function Constitutionally belongs to the States, and they should step up. And they are both dangerous. We can expect them to use their power to break the law to survive. Only Congress can stop them, and only if We, the People remove all reps who are unwilling to to that.

TimTuolomne comments on Sep 2, 2022:
It doesn't matter how you repackage it. It will still have no future, except for true believers who will follow electric cars like lemmings over a cliff. Electric cars use energy produced mainly by coal-fired and oil-fired electric generating plants, and when one compares the energy used to charge them versus the fuel required to generate that power, electric cars average less than 40 mpg. So that means they generate more CO2 than almost every hybrid, and almost twice as much as the most efficient gasoline powered production vehicle. Secondly, there has not been a significant increase in charge density in batteries for 50 years. And the fact that lead-acid batteries are already 75% efficient, and that no battery can ever reach 100%, means that the best that any battery will ever achieve will be a charge density only a few percent greater than today's technology. For electric cars to ever become viable, they must have batteries with more than twice the charge density. That will never happen. That makes battery technology advancements the second biggest investment scam in history. Third, the most efficient batteries invented - lithium batteries, still have a serious explosion risk, for a very slim charge density advantage over lead-acid batteries. Finally, almost all batteries depend on child labor to produce the raw materials. The "me" generation that wants to virtue signal their goodness by owning electric cars, seems not to care.

As far as they are concerned, there is no reason why such far-fetched World domination plots can't work. And as nutty as that is, they are convinced that they know how to rule correctly. If they do, it will be the first time in human history that it happened, and they would have somehow overcome human nature. Do I buy it? No. Just like Hitler taking advantage of civil society - correctly calculating that all he had to do was act without civility to take advantage of them, and before anyone knew what happened he knew he could establish control. What Hitler did not expect was that the US could mobilize so quickly. That is why the WEF has disabled the US military with the vaccine, and divided the country with CRT. Our will to stand up and fight is now just about gone.
So … How are all those Fully Injected Folks making out?

Total Depravity & Original Sin - Are We Born Sinful? | Idol Killer (5:33) [youtu.be]
TimTuolomne comments on Aug 30, 2022:
Life is not a horror picture. Sin is not what you think it is. Evil is not what you think it is. Scripture calls children innocent. Scripture also asserts that every child after Adam is born in "original sin." A recent post claimed that everyone lies. "Actual sin." He believed it. So do I, unless one realizes that the fear of the loss of Salvation should convince everyone to learn otherwise. Even those who believe themselves virtuous before Salvation, are deluding themselves. The self-righteous often are the ones condemning God's faithful. I have done that and am filled with fear for my salvation if I do it again. Are you someone who is willing to condemn others for destroying the planet? Failure to admit it and seek forgiveness will cost you in eternity. Have you never hurt anyone accidentally in growing up, and do you not cringe at those memories? Maybe you've let it go and forgotten. But does the one you hurt still carry the scar? Jesus was safe calling for any who were free from sin to cast the first stone at Him. Apparently everyone there was realistic enough about themselves to not cast a stone. Is that true today? I don't think so. Jesus loves ALL of us, and has died and arisen to accept the punishment for all sin for all time, so that we can live in eternity with Him, because finally in this age, we can understand His Sacrifice and altruism as a model for us, and can gratefully choose to emulate Him. You are free to choose. But he did not overcome sin on Earth. Not yet, because He is waiting for all to be told about Him, and for you to make your choice - which He will honor. Feel free to turn away from God, as long as you understand the consequences in eternity. And we will still face consequences on Earth. Any who believes Scripture says otherwise are willfully lying.

TimTuolomne comments on Aug 29, 2022:
NO study should have ever received Federal funds. Such funding always comes with strings. Governments are only good at politics and war, not research, nor any other activity. And it was never Constitutional. But mainly, universities which once built reputations based on academic excellence were the only ones that thrived. Today, any university can stay afloat on the Government dole, regardless of its merit. Its time for Universities to fail that have no longer any reputation for academic curiosity, unbiased research and excellence. By repealing the Bayh-Dole Act that funds University research, universities will no longer survive as incubators of Marxist philosophy. Ask your reps to repeal the Bayh-Dole Act.

Sources say Panasonic is in talks to build $4B electric vehicle battery plant in Oklahoma; Panasonic...
TimTuolomne comments on Aug 29, 2022:
Panasonic is betting on the stupidity of the American public. For electric cars to ever become viable, they must have batteries with twice the charge density.

Tell everyone you know about this. It explains the Left-wing lockstep of the media. The New York Times proudly reported a while back that 87% of the media were Democrat. A more recent poll placed that value at closer to 93%. So the WEF, Democrats, the Deep State and Marxists have their own propaganda arm in the general media. Its time to abandon them wholesale, including Twitter, Facebook, Parler and most other outlets. If we all switch to these sources, the Left will lose their platform and we can begin to take back civil society. TimTuolomne comments on Aug 28, 2022:
Delusional. Brainwashed. Democrats have been those willing to throw American's rights under the bus to lockdown, and force them to take the experimental vaccine. And Democrats drove the move to accept mail-in ballots, now millions of which have been found to be fraudulent. Founders of the Democrat Party also founded the KKK to intimidate former slaves from voting Republican. Democrats have grown the US Federal government into a mammoth unresponsive juggernaut that condemns without recourse. And Democrats have been fooling Americans since their "Party of the common man" was founded in 1828, while their actual purpose has always been to make end runs around the Constitution, which has limited their power. So this twit believes that the Republicans have done all that, as her party claims. True Republicans are defenders of the Constitution, the only document in the World that limits government, by requiring the rights of citizens to come first. How does it make sense that Republicans would want to cancel voting rights?

Fear disables intelligence and common sense, and under those conditions, people will believe and become outraged about anything. What do you all think?
TimTuolomne comments on Aug 28, 2022:
Marxist's fully intend to confuse, disorient, and disconnect people from their common sense, traditions, religion and safety in civil society, by convincing them that civil society cannot preserve those things. When people fail to defend those things from Marxists, they should be prepared for the consequences: Marxists will destroy their freedom. And don't be deceived, Marxist sympathizers are your friends - mainly housewives who don't know any better and who are outraged by Democrats who lie about Republicans, about the environment, so they vote for those whose measures end up starving and killing the poor everywhere in the name of preserving the planet. And they are outraged about global warming, even though the beach is still where it was 50 years ago. Global warming legislation destroys energy sources of the poor across the globe, dooming them to starvation and death. And they vote for Democrats who have spent the US economy into oblivion, and then blame Republicans for its collapse. These self-righteous morons are outraged by those things and are too dumb to understand that it wasn't our Constitution that caused those things. It is Marxists doing them right under their noses. “If you are not prepared to use force to defend civilization, then be prepared to accept barbarism.” ― Thomas Sowell.
