I won't get into the concrete findings of the investigation, which led to several convictions, but don't you think his association with FBI informant and Russian mobster Felix Sater is a bit suspicious? The lack of public details in the report makes it look like Mueller didn't fully pursue that lead because it would reveal that they knew about Trump's money laundering and fraud for years--similar to how they knew about Bulger's murders. Trump may have been a honeypot for international money launderers and an informant himself.

Somewhere along the line he must have become friends with Chris Hayes (probably before he was at MSNBC), who is probably the only tolerable host on there. The connection is so tenuous that they temporary released him when Mike Cernovich tried to get him fired over an old satirical tweet. Reality can be complex. And I think you'll eventually find that it is actually Tim Pool and others like him who are bought and paid for.

The Kurds have been a valuable ally in pursuing our "interests" in the region AND they align with our values. Trump made a choice, here, that did nothing to advance our "interests," our values, the safety of our troops, or the chances of our troops coming home, and that will likely lead to ethnic cleansing of the Kurds. In fact, Turkey fired artillery to prevent some of our troops from any movement in response to their incursion. It seems Trump was either tricked or pursuing his own personal interests--e.g. a continued business interest in Trump Towers Istanbul. Russia now has the strategic advantage and will likely divide the region between Syria and Turkey next week when Putin meets with Erdogan.

@GeeMac You're taking issue with a free tweet from a former President. Trump campaigned with Nigel Farage. There were no controversy about the latter, which is certainly more significant than a tweet. What there WAS controversy about was: 1. The real Russian social media propaganda campaign, which led to indictments 2. Whether Trump had a connection to #1. No definitive proof turned up, but the efforts of his campaign and those of his close backers Robert and Rebekah Mercer through the British company Cambridge Analytica were very similar. Unfortunately, the UK ended its investigation when they closed up shop and the US settled with Facebook which was implicated. 3. Paul Manafort's corrupt dealings with foreign figures linked to Russia, which sent him to jail 4. Michael Flynn's corrupt dealing with foreign figures, which sent him to jail 5. Michael Cohen's hush money payments on behalf of Trump and lying under oath about Trump's Russian business interests 6. George Papadopoulos's false statements to the FBI about Russian contacts 7. Obstruction of the Mueller probe

His "Protocols of the Elders of Zion"-esque conspiracy theory about people who are secular, young, or progressive, and his assessment of societal decline have no basis in fact. Religion has no place in US government. Imposing traditional hierarchies on society just papers over social problems and enables predators. Harm reduction has actually cut down on the types of social problems Barr is concerned about. Barr's traditionalism smacks of the original American conservatives who fought against desegregation.

@JimbobNE The commons is a shared resource that is either natural or created by the government. Businesses depend on the commons. When they demand more and more from the commons and pay less and less in taxes, you start to see an increase in social problems, ultimately leading to an economic collapse. Like I said in my example about the condo association. The restaurant that demands more and more trash removal without paying a proportionate share of trash removal fees (assessment fees are otherwise proportional to unit size) would eventually require assessments beyond the reach of the residents, potentially bankrupting them and the association. And that would create a financial burden for the restaurant owner regardless of their short-term profits from exploiting the trash removal commons provided by the residents. Likewise, when industry requires more and more support from the US military, why should my dollars have to bear more of the tax burden?

Repeat steps 2-6. I had thought that #2 was just a show and that he could strike a deal anytime the pressure got to be too much, but at this point it is obvious that I was giving too much credit to him. Tensions have escalated past the point of no return.
