Assuming that the globe is actually warming, and that is an assumption; dire weather would decrease. Simple physics. As the globe warms the poles warm faster. E.g., if avg goes up by 1C (yeah, I'll use C rather than F) then the poles go up by 3C. Millions of years ago the globe did warm and this is what happened. Now, dire weather is driven by temp differences. So, if the temp difference between poles and equator is lower then the driving force for nasty storms goes down, not up. So, fewer and gentler hurricanes and such. Yet, every time a hurricane hits somewhere (like they have done for ...... since forever) some TWOT claims that is due to global warming.

Interstate highways in the US have deliberately straight sections in them (for no apparent reason -- driving along and "How come the curves just went away back there?") for the landing of military planes. While living in Houston, Tx a wee plane like the one in the video landed on the ring road around the city. About 12 lanes wide, busiest in the area. Dude just brought his plane down amidst cars -- which quickly did not dispute his "barging in" -- which is unusual for Houston car drivers. Pilot had no choice. Either crash into a few cars or atop surrounding houses. On the highway he had a chance.

Carbon tax is like money laundering -- it "legally" takes money from you and funnels it past politicos (& their relatives) for skimming. No such law/tax should be allowed, ever, that does not have a "check later and report" clause. In other words, within a set number of months after implementation a report to the public is required on how it worked. If no report is forthcoming or complete the sponsors go to prison until it is. Frankly, that is the "softly, softly" approach. I'd prefer either up against the wall or heads on sticks time.

I've always thought that it would be a good State experiment to force some folk to take office, like military conscription. A State legislature with 100 seats could donate 10 or so to folk who would not run for office unless at the point of a gun. Pay them, of course. And, if they have to move to State capitol subsidize them. Then, make them attend every session and post a vote on every bill. Some of the 10 also ought to be from those who aren't even on voting rolls. Let's try out this citizen lawmaker stuff. Could it be worse?
