John MacArthur argues that true Christians cannot vote Democratic.
coalburned comments on Aug 23, 2020:
Whether true or not, I don't think it's his place to make such a statement. But then I've never liked hearing politics from the pulpit. My faith may shape my world view, and thus my political views, but I could vote for a candidate for any number of reasons, some of which could be totally unrelated to my Christian beliefs.
With the number of alleged cases going down, why after 5 months are they doing this.
coalburned comments on Aug 23, 2020:
As much as I detest masks, I think social distancing is doing the greater harm. I'd prefer to be one way or the other, but not both of these measures. If someone wants to make the argument that we should throw everything including the kitchen sink at this virus, then we should all start driving five miles an hour, we should never let our kids out to play unless we are with them 100% of the time, we should ban smoking, we should abandon the use ofall household items that could be potentially fatal... You get the idea.

GOVERNOR OF MAINE ORDERS RESTAURANT STAFF TO WEAR COVID VISORS LIKE DOG CONES! [infowars.com]
coalburned comments on Aug 20, 2020:
Only if they wish to use a face shield instead of a mask, which is still permissible. What I find laughable is this, from the maine.gov web site.... "It is acceptable for kitchen staff to wear face shields in lieu of masks when the kitchen or weather is warm. Front-of-house staff may wear a face shield in lieu of a face covering only if the shield is designed to be worn inverted, attaching below the face (e.g. as a collar) and open at the top of the shield, with the shield extending above the eyes and laterally to the ears. Face shields that are open at the bottom, directing breath downward, are not acceptable replacements for face coverings for front-of-house staff. (Updated 8/14/20)" How in the heck is a server supposed to do ANYTHING safely if their shield extends up above the eyes. Surely that would distort their vision. And does anyone really believe a shield that is open at the top is better than one that is open at the bottom. This has to qualify as the dumbest ordinance ever.

coalburned comments on Aug 4, 2020:
I don't need to feel vindicated for supporting the police officers who do their job the right way. I still have no respect for officers who are corrupt or are careless in dealing with human lives. BLM is irrelevant in this discussion. Just because they siezed the opportunity to stir up trouble means nothing because, let's be honest, they don't truly give a flip about black lives. The video simply confirms what I believed all along. George Floyd was not a martyr. He was a disturbed criminal who, through a series of dumb moves, put himself in a bad situation. He didn't deserve to die, and Derek Chauvin still has to answer for what he did. But cops aren't bad people by default. We need them. Floyd's death was unfortunate, but in no way would I label it "tragic". And in no way should he be lifted up by the black community as a good person done wrong by the police.

I'm sure you noticed they mention mothers but not fathers, and the notion that families can be replaced by a collective of....whatever. Men are not necessary. if you read their entire statement of beliefs, you'll also notice the absence of substantive actions that benefit the black community.
