The Standard Hypothesis is that borders shouldn't change. That hypothesis warrants challenge. Just ask the Dutch during the 80 Year's War. The war was about Dutch independence from Spain. The war was about changing the border of the Spanish Empire. Specifically, about getting The Netherlands out of that border.

China has never shut down a reactor, and they lead the world in reactor construction.
Natural gas is used for heat and electricity. Ideally, nuclear should be providing all the electricity and natural gas should be used only for heat (because it's more transportable). Everyone should be building nuclear reactors to free up natural gas for heating.
America used to produce twice as much coal as it does now. Coal is the most portable energy source, and it's a great foreign policy carrot. You can ship coal directly to homes and they can harness it with a stove.
If I were POTUS my slogan would be "I will put coal miners *in* business."
We should maximize energy production for all sources.
German politicians are too wussy to boycott Russian energy. However, there are many in Germany that remember Russian occupation and they're protesting over Ukraine. This has forced German politicians to consider boycotting Russian energy.

In California, there is incentive to fight to save the public schools. In New York there is none. That's why New York was able to cripple the good schools without a fuss. In California, there will be fuss.

The Canadian Tyranny party won the Emergency Act vote 185-151. It doesn't look like the Tyranny party is vulnerable.
The American Tyranny party is vulnerable, with slim leads in the Senate and House. The American Tyranny party could lose control of congress in 2022, in which case there will be payback.
Trudeau has not only crushed the protest totally, he's established enough deterrent to prevent future protests. The Emergency Act is still in place.
One of the purposes of a protest is to induce the Tyranny party into committing heinous fouls that will cost them elections. This strategy can't work in Canada but can work in America.
Canadians will have to find new ways to protest. Ideas?
