If the Supreme Court does something Democrats don't like, Democrats will ignore it. Or they'll launch a new executive order.
In the past, if a party defied the Supreme Court, it would hurt them in the next election, hence they didn't do it. Today, if Democrats defy the Supreme Court, Democrat voters will cheer.

Most early American presidents retired to their farm after serving. It's a fine American tradition.
