After the Count Dankula case, not even the context of speech is considered in Scottish courts.

The UK already attacks free speech. If you say something offensive or racist they can arrest you and put you in jail. That has an enormous chilling effect one any speech.

Squeak!!! What about us mice. I'm offended because my rights are not included. (Ref. Monty Python). Seriously there's always some crackpot who is going to be offended by something. There is too much attempting to codify speech into law as either acceptable and unacceptable. We all know that some things are okay and other things are not. But dragging this into the sphere of law is ridiculous. It kills free speech. Feel free to be offended by what others say - then you know you live in a free society.

Regarding this, I'm so glad I live in England and not Scotland... freedom of speech is a core element of what separates a democracy from a dictatorship.

The Scottish National Party (SNP) is the main political party in Scotland which supports Scotland becoming an independent nation. They are overall centre-left, advocating social democracy, nuclear disarmament and closer ties to the European Union.
It has become more and more Leftwing over the years. It is no longer centre-Left under Sturgeon.

Sturgeon has campaigned against replacing the Trident nuclear weapons system. She has been a critic of austerity, saying that the UK government's "austerity economics" is "morally unjustifiable and economically unsustainable".

Sturgeon has also campaigned on women's rights and gender equality, and is a self-described feminist; she has argued that Scotland's feminist movement is not simply symbolic, but "sends a powerful signal about equality". She has hailed Scottish feminist economist Ailsa McKay as one of her inspirations.

During the April 2019 SNP Conference held in Edinburgh, Sturgeon declared a "climate emergency". She argued that Scotland's carbon dioxide emissions are irrevocably causing sea levels to rise, which could have a negative impact on Scotland's prospects of achieving Independence.

Sturgeon is all GOB but here wealth comes from a decreasing amount which is oil, and increases your Carbon footprint and has huge social problems with drug addiction sine a lot of unemployed turn to drugs to block their problems out and it goes on she has no idea

@ieuan She's cuckoo... pure and simple... these alarmist ideologues need to be out of public life and away from major decision making.

The ability to communicate is a core pillar of self-defense;

Those who control your communication control you.
