@Lightman That's Bullshit, the scientific community has voiced it's frustration with capitalism on many occasions, but they persevere... all you would have to do is a take stroll down to the patent offices in the UK and see all the progressive ideas and invention that didn't even gain any traction either because there was no money in it for capitalists & shareholders in the long-term or it had conflicts of intrest with other established industries. Scientists think about the future of humanity, small minded capitalists always thinking where the next buck is coming from. In a lot of cases the results are worse than useless and damage the environment.

Politics and science are not the same thing... neither ar4e socialism and capitalism or Progressivism and Conservatism... anyone thinking that Conservatism is anti-progress though is an idiot.
CONSERVATISM is: a political philosophy advocating the preservation of the best of the established order in society and opposing radical change, or simply change for its own sake.
It doesn't oppose all change and it certainly doesn't oppose actual progress.
As for Capitalists... why would any stop a good idea especially when a good idea has a "buck" in it?
