What's your take on that standoff between Nick Sandmann (the MAGA hat kid) and Nathan Phillips?
[pluralist.com]
There was no standoff. Viewing the situation in its entirety suggests a group of high school kids being verbally attacked by one group and physically intimidated by another. Not knowing what to do they stood still and did not engage with the aggressors. When their bus came, they went to it and left.
White people standing still is racist.
Total media orchestrated lie. Nathan Phiiips was the bully.
I think the media did a horrible job in investigating the situation before trying to make a public uproar. As far as who was right and wrong in the situation, well... Cliche as it may sound, "Nick did nothing wrong."
At this point I'm waiting anxiously to see how his defamation lawsuit against WaPo is going to pan out. The current demand is $250M. That was the total value of the company when it was sold to Amazon in 2013. So, this could turn out to be very interesting.
