Philippines Demands China Remove Militia Vessels at Disputed Reefs

Question: Are we not the Phillipines' ally? Why does Blinken state this and do NOTHING?

Can't read, Times wants my personal info to read. Not getting it.

I haven't had them do that, but then I do currently have their "cheapie" subscription deal at the moment. Later this month I have to decide whether I'm going to fork out for a real subscription. Not pleased about that but I am considering it. One of the few truly good news sites that I look forward to scanning every day.

The Philippines needs to show its resolve to defend itself from Chinese encroachment. Sink a Chinese militia fishing boat or two like what Indonesia did. Third parties cannot just come in with guns blazing when no shots have been fired so far. It wouldn't look good. This is what I think is happening. But the PH is wary of America's response as we might go the way of Tibet or Inner Mongolia, with the US looking the other way. Especially with a Biden in the White House.

How I would probably do it is lease this atoll to the US or India for a dollar a year for a hundred years, and have them develop it into a base, with the PH getting preferential rights to sell fruits, grains and meat to that base.

Good point and interesting solution.
