I like mass transit. I love living in big cities. I also like having a car and driving in the country. I have used Amtrak cross country - about a dozen times. I've driven Chicago to CA about 25 times. I've lived in downtown Chicago, and on 20 acres 3miles from pavement. I've been on BART, the LA, ATL, DC, Chicago, NY and San Diego rail systems. Oh, and the tubes of London! I love them. Wish more people used them.

My father worked for the Chicago Transit Authority. I grew up on buses and the 'L'.

I however do NOT support high speed rail.

Despite the size of our country, high speed rail (even cross country rail) is just not economical.
