Not to say that this community is perfect by any means, and I'm brand new to it. In one day I've had online interactions with people I can only imagine represent just about every social sub-genre, disagreed on some level with pretty much everybody. Haven't seen a lot of empty platitudes or foolish insults wildly hurled about. It is rather refreshing

I agree, it feels like hanging out with a lot of friends that you are so comfortable with that even if things should descend into a brawl you know it can always be settled with a quick punch in the nose and then go for a beer with them! 
Or is that just ME?
