Something has recently come to my attention from being shared on facebook. The head of the UOttawa Free Speech was called out as being transphobic, homophobic, racist, and mysogynist by an SJW and now said SJW is raising money to pay for their defamation case.

Here is the campaign, at the bottom are links to the cease and desist letters. To me it looks like this person legitimately comitted defamation against the free speech leader because the leader suggested cutting madatory student fees that pay for SJW organisations. I think those student run groups should pay for themselves and not subject every student to pay for their pizza parties.

What do you think about student-run groups? Should all students pay for the activities of a few?

I think if free speech is subject to hate speech laws, it is also subject to defamation laws.

Note: Beware this persons usage of the term "Free Speech"

What is hate speech laws? Speech you do not like?

Hate speech laws exist in canada to criminalize public speech that paints a number of protected groups as inhuman. It is what separates canada's "freedom of expression" from the United States' God given Unrestricted Freedom of Speech.

So, there is no hate speech laws for unprotected groups, which there is only one. It sounds like one group is being silenced. Thankfully I do not live in Canada.

@RickKnight1
I would suggest that the group mentality is not a fair way of looking at things to begin with. We have grown our bureaucracies for specifically the purpose of being able to deal with every single person as an individual and now that will have been a waste when our society moves into the 'groupthink' age.
I figure that is an exaggeration, but it seems to be the attitude new laws are being written with.

If you want something, you should pay for it, it's not right to force others to pay for something they have no interest in. Good post.

Thanks, these people seem so certain to jump to this mans defense it seems as though the radicals could even be easily defrauded for profit.
