Farm murder: Neil Mackay, who was in a wheelchair, brutally murdered, Winterton

A farm murder took place on Friday morning 9 April 2021, on a farm on the Skietsdrif Road area in Winterton, in the KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa. An unknown number of attackers overpowered Neil Mackay (46), who was paralysed and in a wheelchair as a result of a gunshot wound from a previous farm attack.

Mackay was attacked in his office on the farm. The attackers then ransacked the office and took him into the home.

The body of Mackay was discovered on Saturday morning 10 April 2021, at 10:00, in his bedroom, by his mother who had gone to look for him.

Mackay, who obviously could not defend himself was found with his hands tied and it appears as if he was strangled to death.

Police are investigating the murder but there have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
