I am sick of all the BS propaganda in the news and entertainment industries. There has always been propaganda in the media but it has become so blatant I can’t imagine it is influencing anyone. So out of what I can only imagine is desperation, censorship is being used to silence any opposition. Will there be an end to this nonsense when mainstream media outlets finally flatline? Is that just wishful thinking on my part?

I refuse to watch mainstream media or entertainment garbage. I’ve cancelled all subscription services. I won’t pay for mindless propaganda, it’s our schools I worry about the garbage my daughters bring home is astounding. The advent of technology has spread the doctrines especially around climate change and the vile treatment of those that dare to question it’s validity.

I wonder if newer generations are processing information the same way, with the bombastic press and information overload. Growing up with it, they may not even be aware of other means of learning what is going on.

Has it become so blatant or have you become so aware? I wonder this to myself sometimes. Maybe it’s always been this obvious for those whom have re educated themselves. At least far back as Plato whom wrote the predicament Into his allegory of the cave.

I think it has always been there to one degree or another. I do however believe it has become polarized due to technology. We have the capability of research in the palm of our hands, so our eyes have been opened wide. Therefore, I'd say both of your statements are correct.

The past Republican presidents, not including Reagan, have all worked further their financial positions the same as the democrat ones. The difference with Trump is that he is truly a patriot and doesn’t give a damn about furthering his political career or his bank accounts. That’s what appeals his followers and scares the crap out of his opponents.

Well in 2013 our government in all it's infinite wisdom reinstated the Smith Munde Act...but with extra powers. Look into it. Did you notice the "news" change since then? I did

This is why the internet MUST be reclassified as a utility.

Hmm, have to give this some thought. What would that look like. I have to admit I am weak on this subject but would love some details.

I know what you mean...

Nothing worse then the " sound bite". I believe people are becoming very disillusioned and I believe we are seeing the beginning of it's demise. Just don't see how it can survive with the internet ,long form interviews and podcasts.

I don't watch much TV...including news. Even when news reports are not bias themselves, the presentation can be. I remember watching the 12 o'clock news one day b/c to catch the weather. I don't remember the exact details, but a story came on about some ridiculous news item, then a story about some political/social issue, then followed by another story about another ridiculous news items. It really hit me that while the story wasn't bias itself, the way it was presented made you feel the premise was just as absurd as what it was sandwiched between. Give me AlJazeera, BBC, and Rueters to read online - at least with these I can piece together my own perspective, not be spoon fed ideas or programmed in 20 sec sound bites.

I would like to kick some dirt on the grave of MSM, if they continue to troll themselves into irrelevance. They might just do it themselves.

True story!

The media reminds me of the older cartoon with Taz, the Tasmanian Devil. He gets mad, and when he does, he spits and slobbers and then spins like a tornado. I love it!
