Why do people forget history so easy? why are they so willing to only focus on the moment they are in right now?

I am an applied mathematics major, with zero history and even I know where progressive policies will lead.

Recently, in Canadian politics some high profile Liberal females have quit. Now people are talking about how they should be the prime minister or going on and on about them. Really? But just last week they supported every progressive policy out there?

People have ALWAYS forgotten history. I chalk it up to the hubris of youth. I'm not aiming at a specific age group, I'm looking at "youth" as a relative term.

Everyone thinks that they know better than their predecessors because their predecessors didn't have to deal with today's crises or conditions. It's easy to forget that people are people, and motivations really don't change.

Good question and an excellent observation. People are in the constant desparate search for a saviour and therefore they will grasp at the first thing or person to give them hope.
The women who have left the Liberal party don't have a real problem with Liberal policies. They should be made to prove it if they do.
Bedside confessions are rarely sincere.

Human beings are creatures that do things and act a certain way at times due to whatever coincides with their own world views, and facts (along with history) are of little consequence...
