[dailywire.com]podcasts/44825/ep-740-why-were-all-so-angry

Ben Shapiro asks why we're all so angry. The title to today's pod-cast got me thinking (uh-oh). Be prepared for some rambling...

The question hit me sideways. I'll explain by saying that my first reaction was to answer, "Because of people like you, Ben!" Then I thought to myself, "Nah... that can't be it... can it?"

Then I started thinking about the proliferation of political opinion pod-casts on Youtube and other platforms. These various personalities on the right and on the left are in the business of keeping the political dialog going. Some of these people are making lots of money. But it's not dialog that they're engaging in. It's editorial commenting. Sure, there's a comments section below the pod-cast where people can react to the content of the pod-cast. But that's really where the actual dialog begins. I can't have a conversation with Ben Shapiro or Cenk Uygar by watching their video rants on Youtube, nor can anyone else. But a glance at the comments reveals the results of the pod-cast. There is typically a bunch of people jumping on the rhetorical bandwagon, cheering on the points that they agree with, and the comments degrade to an attitude of, "Yeah! That really pisses me off! We need to DO something about this! Fuck them!"

And there's the problem, as I see it. Lots of faults are pointed to, but very few solutions are offered. And I see this as intentional (maybe I'm wrong here?). If instead of broadcasting one-sided opinions about issues for the sake of keeping the shit stirred up, how about offering an opportunity for real discussion?

I hear people say, "Are you crazy? The left will never discuss anything - they're too stupid to even be able to form a rational thought, let alone discuss an issue of any substance without yelling and screaming!"

We're not giving ourselves a chance. We're so wound-up that we're past a point of no return. That's a real shame.

The reason I used Cenk Uygar and Ben Shapiro as examples, is because I viewed a Youtube video of them debating. The debate was not well moderated, and it was way too brief to allow any real exchange of ideas. And again, I think this may be intentional. I envisioned both these guys getting together before the event and saying to one another, "Okay, we're gonna give 'em a good show of how we disagree on things, but as long as we don't get bogged-down by agreeing about shit, we'll keep our fan base tuning into our shows!"

This may seem like a wild conspiracy theory to many, but all I'm saying is, think about it. Is this why we're so angry?

I believe that our actual divide is one reason why there is so much anger:

That could be one of the reasons...
