I’m in Arizona and yes, this is happening on my Nest thermostat. You can manually change it back but I think I’ll switch back to my old thermostat that’s not being monitored by Big Brother.

78F deg?? That's the lowest I set my house to - when it's rel hot (like today @ 115F) after 2pm it goes to 80F (electricity on my plan cost more from 2~8pm)
