The problem then becomes who will be the watchdog? Are you sure you trust the government to bring criminal actions against news agencies for fake news? Unelected government agents and bureaucrats like Peter Strzok or Lois Lerner would not (did not) hesitate to use their governmental positions and power for political purposes. You could find yourself silenced because you allowed the government to usurp your responsibility to be one of the watchdogs. You choose what you watch and what you read. Don't patronize the fake news, ever. That Sandman kid has the right idea by suing the fake news outlets that slandered him. Individual actions can be powerful. If enough individuals change the channel, the fake news organizations will fail.

I think the best way to deal with this is to stop going to their platforms. There is a reason this week that MSNBC and NBC rating tumbled this week after there was found no collusion by President Trump.

I never go to these organizations. I look for other sources, usually Internet based. If you look, you can find organizations that share all perspectives. I would not ever consider CNN or even Fox to provide full perspective to the issues at hand.

I like to go to the Blaze. They share perspectives from multiple religious groups as well as Athiests.
They are willing to point out critisisms from all sides both republican and democrat. These days, I refer to these parties as republicrats - not all that much difference between them. Both have out of control spending. Both sent alarming amounts of pork to private groups. Both are more interested in appeasing special interests and lobbying groups than their constituency. Any suggestions on an alternate party?

Unfortunately , they can't be charged with filing a false instrument . Unless individual media outlets face prison time for disseminating false information, there is no solution

I have a feeling big money has a say in all that. The people need to speak up more...
