This is from the 2020 proposed budget...the interest on debt is 10% of total spending...almost 13% of total tax revenue..We can't afford "Green new deals" or foreign aid or feeding the world...nothing "new"

March 11, 2019, President Donald Trump released his budget request for fiscal year 2020. Under his proposal, the federal budget would be a record $4.746 trillion. The U.S. government estimates it will receive $3.645 trillion in revenue. That creates a $1.101 trillion deficit for October 1, 2019, through September 30, 2020.

To fund the government, Congress must pass appropriations bills before the fiscal year begins on October 1, 2019. If Congress does not do so, it creates continuing resolutions to keep government departments operational. If it doesn't, the government will shut down.

Government spending is in three categories: Mandatory, which is at $2.841 trillion; Discretionary at $1.426 trillion; and interest on the national debt, $479 billion

So for clarity, just SS, MEDICARE and Medicaid is 2.841 trillion. Interest on debt is 479 billion. So 3.32 trillion is just bills. Total revenue is 3.645 trillion...leaving us a grand total of 313 billion dollars to pay everything else before we are over budget.
This is not "Trump overspending". This is not excessive military spending...the wall. Trying to cut science, and arts, education...cutting everywhere is just being fiscally responsible. We have some seriously hard decisions to make...
Talking about "expanding SS or medicare" etc is insane...we need to drastically cut ALL of them...this is where ALL our issues come from...ALL of them. We are not "the richest country in the history of the world" We are living ghetto fabulous on credit and one economic hiccup from eating our pets. The Bernies and AOCs need to be shut up...It might sound all lovely, fun and positive....but they are the friend that talks you into buying an 8 ball with your rent money...We have kids...we don't need those friends anymore.
