I have decided if I ever committed a crime I would make sure I dressed in the full religious garments so that the police would not bother looking for me and the news media would just say overweight woman seen committing a crime.

Omgosh, disgusting, razors are super expensive. I hate buying them, but I'd never steal them. Global news would title it, red hat wearing trio, 1 male wearing checked shirt, and 2 woman of white nationality caught stealing razors etc, drove off in large pickup. Please be on the alert!

Hmmm. They might have included a few more physical traits that would narrow down the search pool, but the photo tells all. Now, all the suspects need to do is donate the headgear to a charity.

More thoughts. I come from St. Louis where the article would read: "white male" and description down to half inch and hue value for hair and have a picture. Otherwise We'd only get "medium height, medium build."
To this day I distrust ALL people of "medium height, medium build." Obviously we have found inherent criminals driven by genetics. (Or proper diet.)

It would be longer article with a stat on shoplifting with some implied remark that white people are mostly responsible for theft ,all three people would have an individual photo of themselves blown up to clearly see their faces better with additional photos from the security cam .

I think they did a good job. Libel wise they need a generic description but they included the photo. Descriptions are useless anyeay, cannot catch the real peeps by description.
Where I (!) Grew up you could identify the minority by what was NOT pictured and NOT described.l have no problem with their journalism. (Still early though.)

To be honest, I’m surprised Global news actually included a photograph of the suspects. But don’t worry, I’m sure an advocacy group will quickly lodge a formal protest on the basis of “not all hijabs”
