One of the greatest lies is the notion that Democrats want to help the poor, and Republicans don’t. It is more true that Democrats hate wealth, and Republicans hate poverty.

While an oversimplification, that’s a fairly good statement.
Democrats crave Power ... and are willing to use Your “Wealth” to buy it. They are willing to “buy” power from you once they’ve used up all your Wealth”
Republicans crave Wealth ... and realize You have to be able to make enough for them to take some.
Also a raw simplification.
