Do guns kill people or do insane people kill people?
With respect to the reasoning behind my vote on this - ( which by the way was the nutjob option ) is very simple:
Even WITHOUT guns through the centuries mankind has suffered at the hands of MANY a nutjob using ANYTHING that can kill. SO to me a gun is a " tool " - like a hammer or some other such device. to kill it usually takes a NUTJOB at the controls. Unless of course your defending yourself FROM a nutjob - that's called survival.
Which of course can cause a dilemma - the " nutjob " defense can be claimed by BOTH parties depending on circumstances. So in reality, its like porking your cousin - its all
" relative ".
If guns killed people we wouldn't have to send soldiers into war. We could just send the guns.

Brilliant
Guns are excellent tools for taking life. It's their root purpose for existing. A hammer will do, but it takes a lot more effort. A chainsaw is extremely messy, and bulky. A psychopath with the evil intent of killing as many random people as they can would be better equipped behind the wheel of a large truck, plowing through an area crowded with pedestrians. I guess my answer to the silly question is #2, people, with the exception that not every scenario can the person be labeled as a "insane whacko nutjob". People do the killing, either justified or not,, or accidentally or through lack of discipline, or sheer ignorance and stupidity, or complete unquestionable insanity, there's always a person responsible for the action. So I'm curious... what is the specific point people are trying to make with this argument?
Do you do straw man poll that's tilted in language
Children accidentally shoot parents carrying guns
Which do I press a or b
My son kept his shotgun leaning up against the living room wall where we could get to it if we needed it for about a year. Ya' know not once in that year did it just get up and go shoot people! Guess my son had his gun really well trained, huh? Lol
