The question here is weather we are in fact at a solar minim (we are) a Dalton Minimum (might be), or may be a Maunder Minimum (doubtful), but the fact is we still know very little about the cycles of our sun. Ham radio operators tell me the flux is rising, so this looks like the minimum may be short lived, But also tell me that previous peaks were much lower than expected, so the Jury as they say is A hung jury.

But one is for certain, The sun is not behaving as we would have expected.

If your interested, Dr Tamitha Skov (space weather woman) has a weekly podcast, and her youtube channel is a wealth of information on solar weather. If its happening on the sun, she will be talking about it. And she keeps the science to understandable levels (she also admits how much we still don't know) so trust level on this one is pretty high.
