Does the term Anglo refer to all European descendents who live in all the former colonies? Australia, NZ, America, Canada, South Africa?

Is it all European descendents or just British/Celtic?

What is a politically correct term for whites?

I've heard that 'western' is not the correct term.

Thoughts?

To call all whites "Anglo" is the height of ignorance and lack of education.

The Caucasus /?k??k?s?s/ or Caucasia /k???ke???/ is an area situated between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea and occupied by Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. It is home to the Caucasus Mountains, including the Greater Caucasus mountain range, which has historically been considered a natural barrier between Eastern Europe and Western Asia.[2]

Europe's highest mountain, Mount Elbrus, at 5,642 metres (18,510 ft) is located in the west part of the Greater Caucasus mountain range. On the southern side, the Lesser Caucasus includes the Javakheti Plateau and grows into the Armenian highlands, part of which is located in Turkey.[3]

The Caucasus region is separated into northern and southern parts – the North Caucasus (Ciscaucasus) and Transcaucasus (South Caucasus), respectively. The Greater Caucasus mountain range in the north is within the Russian Federation, while the Lesser Caucasus mountain range in the south is occupied by several independent states, namely Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the partially recognised Artsakh Republic.

The region is known for its linguistic diversity: aside from Indo-European and Turkic languages, the Kartvelian, Northwest Caucasian, and Northeast Caucasian families are indigenous to the area.

Anglo come from the word angles, meaning English or England and the political word for whites is white unless the colour spectrum is being re-written to be politically correct which will be utter bolox.

Depends on whether we are speaking of genetic historical origins, or are hearing a racist complain about any white person as being a racist "Anglo". Blacks, Hispanics, and darker skinned people often use "Anglo" as a term of derision and hatred, with implied racist overtones.

Anglo-Saxons were the Germanic inhabitants of British Isles from 400 till 1066 when the Normans (Scandanavian settlers of northern France) conquered Britain.
There are many ethnic groups of White race that moved about and settled in different areas of Europe and elsewhere.

Not quite. Vikings did almost conquer Britain before 1066 but Alfred the great pushed them back and started the process of uniting England for first time. The normans in 1066 just replaced the nobs at the top and didn’t really effect the genetic heritage of the average subject.

@Belimawr True to an extent, particularly the first few decades, but gradually the conquering Normans were able to breed many mixed children and vice versa. Most English today have a very definite proportion (10-15%) of Scandanavian DNA The Normans were Scandanavian originally, and some of what is called Western European DNA is likely theirs, too,

From ancestry.com:
The results reveal the genetic ethnic make up of the ‘average’ person in the UK and what countries and/or regions they can trace their ancestry back to over the past 500 years. They found that the average UK resident is 36.94% British (Anglo Saxon), 21.59% Irish (Celtic) and 19.91% Western European (the region covered today by France and Germany).

Following these top three regional ethnicities in the average UK resident are Scandinavia (9.20%), the Iberian Peninsula (Spain/Portugal) (3.05%), and Italy and Greece (1.98%).

@MarPep hi mate. Don’t think that would have been the normans mixing genes so much apart from the noblemen having there wicked way with the odd scullery maid. Scandinavian genes would have been from the Vikings who settled in England Scotland and Ireland and who almost conquered England apart from Wessex under Alfred the great. Most of country was under Danelaw then. In fact that’s where William the bastards (conqueror) claim came from was his relationship with Vikings who originally almost conquered England. Harold blue tooth was first Norseman to claim kingship. An odd fact is that’s where the name for Bluetooth wireless technology comes from ?

@Belimawr Good info. The Duchy of Normandy had been given to Rollo the Viking leader in a treaty in 911A.D. signed by French King Charles the Simple. "After being defeated by the Franks at the Battle of Chartres in 911, the Viking leader Rollo and the Frankish King Charles the Simple signed the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, under which Charles gave Rouen and the area of present-day Upper Normandy to Rollo, establishing the Duchy of Normandy."

Well that’s the funny thing. Lots of different tribes with different characteristics make up Europe. Anglo Saxon mainly means English as people from those tribes took over England from the celts who were pushed back into wales, Scotland and Cornwall. Celts had previously wiped out Picts in Scotland when the “scoti” tribe came over from Ireland. You have franks in France. Angles and saxons came from Germany area. Nordic’s are the Viking type peoples. I think the visi or Astro goths ended up in Spain. But mainly called Anglo Saxon outside of Europe because those places populated by white people from Britain. For areas with whites from French colonies, they should probably be called franks.
