"The British state has no place defending the sanctity of Islam." - Sargon of Akkad
He's right, yet I've met some lovely Muslims in my life... How did we come to this? We're so divided. Makes me sad.

If those “Muslims” actually read or have read the ENTIRE Qu’ran ... and Agree with what it teaches ... they ARE NOT “Lovely”.
The Qu’ran consists of basically 3 books. If you read ONLY part #1 then you might reasonably think that Islam is “good and peaceful” ...
Of course, that’s like someone who only reads “selected” parts of the Bible and considers themselves to be a “Bible Scholar”.

A VERY Interesting aspect of Islam is that, UNLESS you were born an ARAB (“of the People” ) You can NEVER be a “Muslim” you can ONLY be a Dhimmi ... You can ONLY be a Submitter to Islam.

Islam is EXTREMELY Racist in this aspect.

Hadith is the most problematic one, and there are people who are trying to remove it as part of Islam reform. I hope they will succeed. They're constantly under death threats. Like any religious fundamentalists, those Muslims who believe the words of Muhammad literally are dangerous ones (Islamists or Medina Muslims).

@Naomi
That, of course, assumes that they WERE the “words of Muhammad” to begin with as he “wrote” nothing down ... as the things he said were written on scraps of writing materials and never collected or assembled until after he was dead.
However, I’m not referring to the Hadith, I’m referring to the Qu’ran itself.

Likewise the Bible.

@Naomi
Well, if by “Bible” you mean the “New Testament” I agree completely ... actually more than that, I am very suspicious of everything in it.
As to the “Old Testament” I’m actually okay with much of it although the Jews rewrote most of it to reflect themselves as “heroes” of the story. Pretty much that entire book ... especially the first half or so ... was taken from the Sumerians, Babylonians and Assyrians.
The original writings are really only recently coming to light as countless cuneiform tablets are being translated. These tablets are much more detailed and highly specific ... even technical ... in nature covering the creation of “earth”, the creation of man, the ark and much more besides. The stuff they covered is quite astounding.

That's why the Qur'an, and the Bible, and many ancient literatures for that matter, are interesting to study, I think. Like the Bible, the Qur'an is translated into different languages by different translators, so interpretations vary, naturally. You could post this topic for a new discussion. There may be experts on this subject among the members here. You sound very knowledgeable about the Bible yourself. Good talking to you. Take care.

It is sad for Britain and its culture. Who in the free world would have ever thought that crazy political elites, would throw together opposing cultures and simply say, now all get along,! Don't say anything,or there will be legal consequences. Sargon is right. If free societies do not push back, while we still have a voice, eventually we will not have a voice.

I blame the open border policy. Mass immigration is very problematic. Many Muslims are peaceful as individuals. There are many British Muslims who happened to be born in Muslim families and have never read the Qur'an, so they're fine. LOL There are also peaceful Muslims living by the Qur'an, and they actually appreciate Western/British values. So, they are in a dilemma between Muslim values and Western values. There are also gay Muslims.

Same thing in Canada, Australia, Sweden etc etc.The a world must act now & vote out the Treasonous Leaders of the swirls who are bowing to Islam.
