The more I follow politics and the News the more I am convinced that we must rebuild our societies and our civilizations along with our laws all over again from the ground up.

There seems to be a system wide failure & the only way around it will be a REBOOT.

A complete collapse of civilization followed by a fresh emergence of civilization would lead to the same result. Why? Because humans have a dual brain that, as chaos theory would predict, MUST develop a dominance of one aspect over the other, either linear or non-linear dominance. Since the distribution of linear or non-linear dominant individuals is random, it leads to a general state of social incoherence, in other words, chaos. Non-linear thinkers, the creatives, will find it easier to convey the nature of such a chaotic system through their expressions. Linear thinkers, the logicals, will find easier navigate and control such a chaotic system. Hence the inevitability of the emergence of a power & control hiearchy.

The problem with "reboot" is that we're not smart enough to build from the ground up. I mean, if you look at the evolution of western societies, the invention of moral agency and accountability, the ideas of people having a say in their rule, governing through representatives of the general politi, the Christian notion of "in each person a spark," popular sovereignty, social contract, personal liberty, personal responsibility...All of that getting us to safe spaces and consumerist globalism...and you want to tear down the social structures and let the "elite" among us build it anew from scratch? Our civilization rests on the shoulders of giants, trembling at their burden, as our best and brightest have removed their teachings from the curricula of some our most respected institutions. Yeah.....

No.

I've often wanted to press the reset button too. put us back to the point where survival is the main goal. yeah I know nihilistic sort of, its fun to think about it, besides the best part is I don't think the crazy sjws leftists will survive a reset. thing is, is it possible to reset without some kind of global war/zombie apocalypse et al.?

I agree with this. In America, the two traditional parties allowed the country to stagnate with business as usual. The same with MSM to the point that there is a need for change. Everything has to be rebuilt with personal responsability taking the lead

Tearing it all down and starting over is precisely the post-modernist agenda.
We need to take back and reform our political/educational/immigration systems.
The real citizens need to speak loudly with votes, money, and massive protests.
A general strike, demanding reform and the resignations of all career politicians
would be a good start!

Unfortunately, in order for any sort of unification of the people to happen, we must have freedom to communicate. This is exactly why the government/corporate media cartels are busy shutting down internet free speech and promulgating division at every possible level. Keep the populace divided and the theft of freedom can continue unimpeded!

@Slavey of course, the post-modern agenda is merely a means to an end: complete centralization of power. I would say the same for "Leftist" control. The Left is just another dummy corporation. The Left and Right are being manipulated to focus their anger on each other. It is the globalist plutocrats that are pulling the strings and laughing at the blind sheeple too preoccupied to see the trap.

the failure is intentional. Politicians have figured out they can consolidate and maximize their power by creating and presiding over managed perpetual chaos.

Well, a reboot is already happening isn't it? Society has been fractured by enormous changes (stresses) in the last 100 years or so. Looking at Canada at about 1900 to 1920, about 90% of the population was rural; uneducated (a lot of people only went to grade eight); poor (about 90% lived below the poverty level) and religious. There've also been huge changes in marriage and divorce, birth control, the status of women; and two really bad wars, among other things.
Now consider if it were a person. Psychologists tell us even one significant event a year, say a divorce, is often enough to cause a severe reaction such as a depression which requires treatment.
So, we are living the experiment. The effects are echoing and re-echoing. Rates of marriage, men's happiness, women's happiness and women's fertility among other things have all been declining. We are living in what anthropologist Dr. Lionel Tiger would call a "bad zoo." A good zoo is one where the animals are happy and reproducing; but we are "wrong" now.
How will it work out? Should governments try to influence an outcome? My inclination is to let things work out for themselves. We know examples of where humans tried to mess with ecosystems and it turned out badly. Kudzu is choking out native plants in the southern US. In New Zealand, sailors introduced rabbits as a source of food. They became a pest. So they brought in cats to control the rabbits and the cats ended up hunting the native bird populations.
Humans have survived war, plague, famine, drought, etc and somehow have kept stumbling along. It also maybe wouldn't be a bad idea if the human population would decline some. With a bit of innovation we could clean up some of plastic in the oceans; clean up some of the toxic pollution sites; and reduce stress on the ecosystem caused by over-fishing, for example.
Humans have basic needs to which they always revert; not only food and water but affection, acceptance and a sense of contributing or meaning. As the doctors say, "First, do no harm." In other words, don't mess around too much; but only clean up the bad; and let people work things out for themselves. That's my view anyway.

I feel the only way to completely reboot without genocide might be colonization of different planets.

Human race needs population control.

I find no other solution to be viable Onegodlesswoman...they want total control!
