When confronted by a supporter for being a millionaire, rather than talking about inequality, Bernie Sanders essentially said, “I am entitled to my millions. It is all the other millionaires who are greedy. I want their money too.”

Lol that's not even close to what he said. Yet you put it in quotation marks. Hmm why would you do that? I assume the point you're trying to make is that it is hypocritical to be a millionaire and also care about the staggering income inequality we currently have. People made this argument even before he was a millionaire, pointing out that Bernie owns 3 houses. As if that makes his entire worldview ridiculous. Here's a couple reasons why you are not engaging in good faith (besides the fact that you totally butchered his actual quote and didn't link to a source, I care less about that).

First of all, a million dollars is not what it used to be. Tons of people go from wage slavery to retiring a millionaire. Hell, you can't even buy a house in some cities for less than a million. In 2017 a net worth of $1 million in the US was only the 88th percentile--nowhere near the top 1%.

Secondly, his political ideology is not inconsistent with making money. Bernie has never criticized the rich just for being rich; he pillories the system that allows them to easily and legally turn their riches into obscenely more riches at the expense of the rest of us. He doesn't say things like "I want their money too." He talks about more heavily taxing the rich--including himself--in order to reduce income inequality and fund necessary government programs.

But this got 7 likes on the "SJW Injustice" board (LOL). So I'm guessing people here aren't ready to engage in a good faith conversation about this subject.

When I see Bernie I think how stupid are his followers.college kids are forced to believe their has to be an EASY way.to get out of debt.they must think for themselves and not the noise.democrats have only one idea we know best.elites believe this more government is better.they take your money and give it to someone else.politician never had to earn one paycheck.never hired out of THEIR POCKET.thats why 2020 will be a landslide for the President.work hard results happen.

Bernie is a democratic socialist. Meaning that you're allowed to be a millionaire or even a billionaire. But the dirty rotten scoundrel wants rich people to pay some tax. That category would now include himself. Oh, the humanity!!!!

One of the commonalities of liberal thought is that they know whats better for you than you do.
