I firmly believe that decriminalizing the plant will solve all problems. If people could legally grow for personal use, then all other ills would disappear. Prohibition creates profit motive. Beware of black market weed, because legal weed is trying to eradicate black market weed. This may explain the fentanyl, as it is a way to expedite the need for legally regulated marijuana.

I don't use or think it's wrong for personal choice but i do feel as is ( illegal) gives it more of a allure for children to sneak and try it, leading to more danger for them, and it is hurting ( i don't us the unfear stand much) but being legalized in one state and people losing their children in another over the same common habit is wrong!

@Facci Legalize would bring it into regulatory standards allowing testing products for the consumer base.
Perhaps you mean decriminalization?

Fair enough. I'm not opposed to decriminalization, but I'm not sure we're doing our due diligence on the issues. You make a strong point about regulation. My issue is with general attitudes that treat marijuana as harmless, or even a mostly beneficial cure all. I believe we should be brutally honest about the subjects. Many Americans want to freely use marijuana to get high without legal ramifications. I want to see more cautionary messages of responsibility than I'm currently seeing, and less of the careless herd mentality toward a primrose path to chaos.

@Facci Currently I believe we are in the worst of all situations. It's illegal on the federal level, but have an uncontrollable black market.
This translates to not being able to actually study it. Alcohol for example has been heavily studied(independently) so most are very aware of the effects of long term heavy use.

We currently have conflicting information on the negative, and any possible medical benefits.

As far as individuals getting high without legal ramifications I don't have an issue with. I don't have issues with people's actions when they don't directly impact others.
Although I do believe in allowing real information to be produced allowing people to make a truely informed decision.

I will generally side with liberty with education.
