I’m in fervent agreement with this, but I’m honestly trying to imagine how Lefty would respond.
I guess more narrowly, I’ve never seen a specific, well-thought argument explaining what about Peterson’s ideas the Left hates so much. Is anyone aware of something like this? Does a strong intellectual argument against him exist?

No exhaustive search/research done by me; but what I have seen in response to Peterson's cool, calm and collected comments is raging, ranting invective with nothing but toxic emotion to drive it. And he responded intelligently without returning the "favor" or trying to collect support for his position through group identity pandering. I think what destroys most angry, resentful leftists is his refusal to lose his cool.
The political leanings of a mass shooters are largely meaningless.
Unless politics are the motivator then it's actually just terrorism.
